it's actually quite simple considering i decided not to use any exotic ingredients, but chose to go with options easily available to the average vancouver household.

it is my first time using olive oil to make cookies and the first few trials were trying to perfect the texture of the dough. i wanted it to be somewhat like that of a normal butter based cookie yet distinctly different with olive oil. the reason is that i didnt want people eating it to be alienated by the texture. i wanted them to recognise that it is a familiar cookie, but slightly different.

6th trial onwards was testing several flavour combinations. the 6th trial was deemed a failure because while the flavours were good, they lacked the "wow" factor. it was at that point i sat down to think: did i want a complete over hull in flavours, completely trash this cookie, or play the novelty card more. it was decided that since the base foundation of the cookie was genuinely good, more novelty would be the option to take; wasabi would be the key ingredient that would escalate the cookie from simple home-made experiment into a memorable experience.

trial 7 onwards was testing for the right ratios of flavour. also, i felt that the cookie needed a bit of acidity to hold everything together while accentuating the flavours. i settled on crasins since i had some.

anyhoo, i'm on my 10th trial & the cookies came out perfect. unfortunately i no longer have time to create a fancy design that's enticing to kids.

i tried making another cookie using some exotic ingredients, one of which used pandan as the main ingredient. i sun dried the leaves and grind them to dust by hand. it was a long and tedious process which turned out to be a huge disappointment. the leaves i had acquired were simply too weak.

anyhoo, my next venture will be a much simpler one in terms of brain power. i want to recreate one of my favourite south east asian dishes, the hot plate tofu. it's a very simple dish that uses japanese egg tofu; the hard part is forming the perfect fried skin while maintaining the shape of the tofu. too fried and the texture is lost, not to mention it'll taste very bitter. under fried, and the tofu collapses on itself. the perfect hot plate tofu is one that maintains its sharp cylindrical form with an extremely thin & very slightly crisp skin with a core that melts on your tongue.

this is my very own creation:

it is an olive oil green tea cookie. it's got crasins inside and glazed with a white chocolate wasabi drizzle. this is the 8th trial. for the 9th trial i will add a dark chocolate drizzle and garnish it with some crushed walnuts. if that works out well, i will consider redesigning the cookie into some kid friendly shape like gekota.

vancouver is a nice place if you love outdoor activities while not requiring to be too far from civilisation. you can start by sailing up north, hike to a river, kayak back south towards down town in time for dinner in some fancy restaurant, and especially during the summer when the sun sets at 9:30pm, you could hit a bar by the beach to watch the sunset all within one day.

if i’m really behind, i like to get a wriggles on my ADC. it allows me to keep up with the enemy’s push, help my support ward, and it gives me armour and lifesteal to keep up with the enemy adc’s harass. wriggles builds from the vampiric scepter so you dont have to plan to get it, you just do when you feel you need it. alternatively, trying to save up for a BF sword when you’re that much behind to need a wriggles would cause you to be set back immensely. also, most adcs shouldnt be rushing BoTRK.

i havent played league for a month or so now and so many good things have happened to me since. i hope this will be my final break from this zombie keyboard tap dancing routine. though i have to say, i do miss having to deal with the occasional baldrik and george.

i loved the last episode of queen’s blade: rebellion -the ending theme animation was electrifying.

and i got my study date with the girl i like.

i was looking forward to talking with this girl i like from tutorial tomorrow but tutorial has been cancelled. i even prepared a cheat sheet of list of topics to talk about so i wouldnt feel so embarrassed when she senses i’m struggling and helps me out. i suppose i’ll give her a call tomorrow morning….

you could always start by walking closer to a target as its health gets low and slowing increasing that distance as you gain more confidence. melee champs are naturally easier to last hit with because of their higher based AD and lack of projectile time before impact.

how about trying urgot? he's stupid strong this season as he can be built as a tank yet still dish out the same damage as a glass cannon ADC.

each time i havent played a champion for a while, it usually takes me 2 games before my last-hitting with the champion is calibrated. of the ADCs, i find ashe to be most problematic -her attack speed is severely lacking and the missile speed is pitiful.
