Seeing ribs makes a girl unattractive? You say it like she’s anorexic! I think not being able to see her ribs at all and having noticeably curvy legs makes a girl look porky. This girl here has only a little rib and nice long legs and overall she doesn’t have extra fat like most American [...]

Touhou 6 – Bullets are fast and random in general but not a ton of them.
Touhou 7+ – Bullets are slower and more predictable but many more.
Touhou 6 is probably the hardest main series game to start on.
I would agree that Touhou 7+ the bullets are slower and more predictable but I wouldn’t say they were that random in 6. The bullets almost always fire based on your current position. As long as you position yourself at the right place at the right time you can breeze through stage 1-3 and most of 4 without too much skill.

Must be one of those who were out of their minds complaining that RahXephon copied NGE whilst it actually copied a truly influential anime called Raideen The Brave (Yusha).
I would like to know how exactly a mostly Western and probably at least half of North American debaters can discuss based on the influence caused by an anime without watching or knowing some of the important one which never/partially got translated. No, I’m one of the loons that noticed that after Eva there was a sudden increase and interest in experimental anime and anime dealing with similar themes as Eva. RahXephon may have had some similarities, but there were way more differences. Also, ever since Eva, the combination of super robot and real robot has gained popularity. And it’s easily one of the most well-known anime of the 90s. You blind? If it’s still this popular 15 years later, there’s no way it’s not or isn’t going to be “truly influential.”

They had to cut out stuff because of budget and time constraints. Obviously humor takes a blow. Why don't you try cramming all that story into 64 episodes? The whole "homunculi are failed human transmutations," while somewhat unique, was poorly executed. Their weakness was really stupid. And of the 7 homunculi, 5 of them are related to some of the most important characters in the series and 2 are unexplained. What kind of coincidence was it that Dante happened to have so many positions open that just so happened to be filled by main characters' loved ones? Also, why limit herself to 7? Why not 10 or 20 or 100. The whole thing is just one big gaping plot hole. Having all the homunculi be created by an original, each representing a part of itself, for the purpose of essentially becoming god makes way more sense.
Also, FMA is supposed to be realistic. So it follows that Ed, being super trained in hand-to-hand and weapons combat, would use his alchemy to make weapons to fight with. And a huge pussy that cries a lot? He's human, deal with it. He's not a stereotypical hero who jumps into action and always comes out happy-go-lucky, no personal issues. He ain't Goku. And they stopped doing the shortness gag like 2/3s into the story when shit got serious and he stopped being short. The other sacrifices aren't specialized alchemists like Mustang, but they're all highly trained combatants, so of course they "kung-fu fight" and their alchemy would only be limited to making stuff from the ground given the situation. Still though, not as annoying as Mustang would have been in that fight.
Scar's arm a plot hole? Did you blank out at the end, or what? It basically fucked the big bad's grand plan. If it wasn't for that, no one would have been able to fight back at the end. It restored their alchemy and powered it up to max, leveling the playing field. The arm was necessary to make the final fight not suck. I think you just expected it to be more important than it was because it was important in the first anime.
<END RANT>
But I agree that the art was better in the first one.
EDIT
I think we may need another week. -

I never watched FMA Brotherhood, but if it’s as faithful to the manga as it’s supposed to be, then it’s better than the first FMA. Did nobody else feel a change in tone (for the worse) after it deviated from the manga? Everything after that was like one really extended WTF moment. I liked it at the time, but it always felt off somehow. And then Conqueror of Shamballa came out and that was a disappointment. And then I found out there was a manga. I finished reading it all a couple months ago and that was way more satisfying than the first anime.
As for Evangelion, I think the problem comes from people looking at it as a mecha anime. The beginning makes you think it’s just another mecha anime, but the focus isn’t on the mecha at all. It’s a story about the characters’ inner struggles, with mecha on the side. Of course, people don’t seem to care as much about the characters as they do about watching stuff blow up and giant things beat up other giant things, which is why I believe End of Eva was made.
My point is this. Eva should be in the top 100 because it was good, it still has a large fanbase, it had a noticeable impact on the mecha genre and psychologically-oriented anime, great music, lots of memorable and iconic scenes, it meets all the requirements. Plus, Rebuild looks like it’s gonna lead to something really good.

Anime I think should definitely stay:
Akira
Dragonball
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Ghost in the Shell
Escaflowne
Perfect Blue
Trigun
Akagi
Full Metal Alchemist
Full Metal Panic!
Genshiken
Read or Die OVA
5 Centimeters per Second
Angel Beats!
Code Geass
Death Note
Dennou Coil
Eden of the East (but I think it’s mistakenly listed as East of Eden)
Gurren Lagann
Katanagatari
Welcome to the NHK
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Xam’d: Lost MemoriesOnes I think should definitely be considered:
Angelic Layer
FLCL
Elfen Lied
Cowboy Bebop
Pokemon
Azumanga Daioh
One Piece
Bleach
Naruto
Love Hina
Last Exile
School Rumble
Amagami SS
K-On!
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora
Lucky Star
Hetalia
Panty & Stocking
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0I haven’t seen or finished watching most of the anime in the second list, nor do I necessarily like some of them, but they are either highly popular or highly regarded, which is why I put them there.
About Code Geass, give it a rest, it meets all suggested requirements.
Remember, we’re not here to discuss which ones we don’t want, we’re supposed to name which ones we DO want.
But speaking of ones we don’t want, I honestly don’t think Kannagi is anything special but if it’s already considered godly, there’s nothing I can do about it.

I think Love Hina can be the only that can be considered a Harem out of those.Kanon, Clannad, and School Days are definitely harem. But they’re dramatic rather than comedic, and the focus is on the characters and story rather than the harem and fanservice, which makes them different from the generic harem anime, which may be the source of confusion.
I would say School Days is the Godliest of all harem anime. I mean come on, he had sex with all the girls, someone was raped, there was a foursome, and then it came to a bad end. And BTW Nice Boat.

I don’t understand why people like harem anime so much. Especially the romantic-comedy ones. As far as I’ve seen, they’re usually very similar to each other, and the plot is put second to fanservice. Most of these aren’t even worth watching for plot, and you can find better fanservice online.
The only harem anime (or anime with harem elements) I would consider for Godly is Kanon, Index, School Days, and maybe Love Hina (for being so popular). I haven’t watched Clannad yet so I can’t judge it.I think it’s obvious I fall into the “Type A” group.

I think we should also factor in execution with the definition of “godly” like, for example, Gurren Lagann is just full of cliches and shonen stereotypes yet the execution made it the epitome of awesome and manliness (some would say).
We’ve been trying to define “godly” and I think when you factor in everything we mentioned so far (art, music, story/plot, influence, and let’s add characters and execution) slice-of-life and romance come out pretty even because while it’s not an action-heavy storyline, they make up for it with a good story and character development (Genshiken is one example). I said it somewhere else that so far, it doesn’t seem like people are defining “godly” as being awesome or epic, but as being what they consider quality anime.

Well i’d say we vote on basis of art, music, story/plot and overall influence on the genre myself.
In addition to art, music, story, and influence, I would add characters. I find that good anime often have well-developed characters and good character interactions/relationships. After all, what’s a story without good characters?
About influence on the genre, to what extent should it be a factor? Because some anime on the list are somewhat obscure and have had relatively little influence in their genre but are spectacular nonetheless.

How are we going to decide what is “godly” if we can’t define what “godly” is? I think so far people have been going with anime that they like and think is really good, in which case, godly is a measure of overall quality. It’s certainly not just a measure of awesome or epicness or cuteness of characters judging by the list so far. If that’s the case, shouldn’t we define what makes good quality anime to help in the elimination process?
