It's harsh but what for? Both the poor fella that guards a kindergartner school's door or the other fella that open a garage gate for a living get the minimum wage or something. They also have terrible scholarship (thus their jobs) and the best case scenario would be the building/school paying it up for me and firing said guys.

It would bother me much more knowing I ruined those idiot fucks (no argument here, they are indeed idiots! how the hell do you break a door by opening it?!) lives over something I can somewhat afford than just shut the fuck up and deal with it.

It's annoying because on the door and the roof issues it will be a HUGE trouble to deal with the tapestry. It will have to be removed to fix the issues and the car will have to be put down for a good a while… it's just a nightmare actually.

The one thing that pisses me off thought is that on both cases their stance was somewhat similar: 1. the door was already broken! and 2. why did you close the gate on your car? …thankfully deep breaths were enough to save me a trip to the jail for smashing their faces and I am happy enough about this fact alone ¬¬

DISCLAIMER: it's a bit tl;dr but I advise you to read, it will make most problems you faced this past few weeks/months seem frivolous ¬¬

So… I've been using my mother's brand new car for two months now while my own is borrowed to my sister (it's a screwed up story that doesn't belong on my lil rant so nvm).

Next week I will be getting mine back so I was relieved that I spent 5 weeks accident free.

Just so happens that yesterday when I was maneuvering I managed to hit the fucking pillar… the damage was minimal but will set me back 100US$ to fix it up… it's entirely my fault so no biggie I will just sulk it up and take the hit (and hide the fact that it happened to AFTER it's fixed ><).

I wash my face and go back to my duties… I usually pick up my nephew at her school and the "dude" that sits at the door brings her over to my car, opens the door and slides her in… just so happens that yesterday was raining and the fucking moron was a little bit too much in a hurry. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THE FUCK but he managed to break my back door's inner knob. WHAT THE FUCK?! I found strange that he slammed the door 5 FUCKING times trying to close it but even then, this is just too much…

…all good and dandy up until today when I am getting back home and the retarded that operates the garage gate miraculously decides to close said gate when I am going out. The damage is again negligible… or it should be save for the fact it hit exactly on the plastic radio antennae and got it out of place slightly, which means that I will have to tear down the inside of the car so I can unbend the metal surrounding it and seal it again, otherwise any rain will mean the end of anything fabric inside the car.

It didn't all happen "today" but it's pretty close to 24hs and belongs to the same "FUCK YOU WORTHLESS SHIT" package life gave me this week so I decided to post anyways ¬¬

Why are you even talking about dual/quad core? That wasn’t even in discussion. For me, yes, 2 extra cores is a huge difference (I use mental ray), reason why I won’t settle for an I3 even if it’s performance per core is better (and the fact that it’s still more expensive).

High end parts are the ones that devalue the most. Make no mistake, when you are going for enthusiast parts you are paying a premium for extra juice, they are not and will never be a justifiable purchase from the budget stand point. Even if you try to stretch the argument about life span, you can just as easy upgrade your mainstream processor every year and still pay less and get similar/better performance 3 years down the road than you would’ve had with your enthusiast one, plus the benefit that you are refreshing your hardware and warranties.

I am on Brazil so our prices are wayyyyyyyyy out of scale. We have 60% import tax over electronics allegedly to "foment national market". Obviously, considering we don't have a microchips factory in here this is just a huge "fuck you" when building a new rig ><

It did get better over the past few years so it's not on the 60% level anymore I think (gotta check) but yeah it's still not cheap. Usually the prices we end up paying are simply US$ prices x3.

For instance, the stuff I am buying will cost me R$600. The same configuration on Amazon or Newegg goes for 250US$. The lucky thing is that I already have HDD, PSU, chassis and cooler so the price goes down quite a bit.

An I7 like the one you mentioned would cost me R$3400.

I have no use for an I7 and/or for 8gb of RAM (very VERY few people do actually ¬¬).

Also, the price on I7's scale TERRIBLY. Their performance/US$ is not nearly as good as the I5's and much worse than the PIIx4's (I do feel that the x6's are somewhat awkward positioned at the moment though). Unless I had a VERY VERY specific need that would DEMAND an I7 I wouldn't go nowhere near one.

I also like to keep my temperatures and noise levels as low as possible, so I won't be going higher than a 95W processor. My computer stays on 24/7 so overclocking is also not on my mind, thus why I am not even bothering going for a BE processor.

I've always used AMD. For the matter of effect all 3 systems I built for myself in my entire life where all AMD (Athlon +1900 Palomino / Athlon XP +2500 Barton and Athlon X2 +3600 Brisbane — I overclocked all of them and loved specifically the second one ^^). Back when I was 6 or so and my sister's boyfriend did the rigging for me he used first a crappy Celeron and right after an even crappier (and MUCH MUCH MUCH hotter) Pentium 4 (the dreaded first gen of this crap). I got so disgusted with Intel that I made a rule that I would never go back to it ¬¬

I do realize their performance is unparalleled, but really, their cost/benefit is pretty bad. Building a quad core system with 200US$ is just not possible with Intel. I would have to dish another 100US$ for an I3 Sandy Bridge (I refuse to buy past gen crap) that would have 30% better performance at stock (although they overclock like beasts ><), two less cores and a much crappier motherboard.

And lol at baking the card… I might end up trying after some research who knows ^^ Would be fun at least, but mine wasn't nearly as bad. I only got some artifacts while using 3D acceleration, 2D was fine, Windows was fine and I only got a single BSOD. The cooler grinding though was a bit annoying. I always thought VGA's had a fail safe for high temperatures like the CPU does, I guess I was wrong.

I started watching Hen-Zemi precisely because the art is diferent. At first I found it pretty gross but the more I see the more I start to find it hot.

Also, it’s not a problem of the artists. While 80% of BD/DVD income comes from the same 30% of the BD/DVD buyers the market will fit their style. That is also the reason why anime becoming more popular (yeah right ¬¬) not only abroad but in Japan as well would be beneficial, studios would be able to make more diverse stuff to cater to a more diverse audience.

…not that I am complaining thought, my tastes are quite similar with that of those 30% so I love them for supplying me with endless harems and dating sims ;p

That chick reminds me of a girl I dated briefly. She was an ex high school volleyball player on her early 20′s. Got myself (not arriving till Wednesday but still) a PII x4 (the "fake" 840 model that is actually an Athlon X4 but with really great performance) with 4gb of ram and a Biostar mobo. I would go forward on an I3 model, but Intel's motherboard offerings are 1. expensive and 2. suck if you don't go for the even more expensive models. So I will remain loyal to AMD ^^ I know my Maya renderings will thank me for the extra two cores.

The thing that pissed me the most though is what the HELL am I supposed to do with my current system?! It's by no means terrific but its pretty above average and could keep going on for internet/movie without much struggle, but at the same time nearly unsellable ¬¬

Even if I were to use it as a NAS my current motherboard only have 2 SATA ports so meh.

My computer stays on my room right next to my bed so I appreciate the quietness of current gen. air cooling more than most, I even went out of my way to spend an extra buck for my now dead ICEQ VGA and my coolers from Akasa but even then…. 10db < 0db ^^

Any experience with the unlocking of the two cores from the PII 555? I hear that lottery is quite harsh as in 10% of people manage to get a stable system, that's why I am trowing a few more on the x4 even with only 2mb of cache and no L3).

Just so happens that I am kinda thinking my Athlon x2 will bottleneck anything I trow at those cards, so I am considering grabbing a new system and using the new onboard thingy a while until I can grab the 5830 next month or so.

A PII (Athlon 2 255 maybe so I can trow in a x6 later on) 555 with a Biostar 880g board and 4gigs cost about the same as the board and will probably make my whole life better ><

In the meantime I cracked my HIS card open and am taking some time to fix the cooler. Maybe with some under clocking I can avert the artifacts and give it a few more weeks/months of life. The cooler is pretty good so even in the worst case I can be considering trowing it on my new VGA anyway ¬¬

That passive CPU cooling is monstrous, your computer looks like a truck after installation, at that point (I7) makes me wonder how much better water cooling would be. ¬¬

The only time I ever passive cooled anything on my PC (other than north/southbridge) was on my old Athlon XP +2500 Barton Mobile…. it was so cool ;p

OK, found some promotions on two models and will stick with one or the other…

The 6570 is a MSI model with – Clock GPU(MHz): 650 | Clock Memory(MHz): 1800

And the 5670 is form Sapphire with: GPU- 775 MHz | Memory 1600 MHz.

I managed to find them at the 50US$ mark which seems like a bargain so I will stick with one of them ^^
