  1. The 12-year-old, 115-foot, stabilized monohull vessel would fill the role of fast interceptor, replacing the Ady Gil, the vessel that the Japanese whaling vessel Shonan Maru No. 2 deliberately rammed and destroyed on January 6th of this year.

They named it "The Ocean Adventurer". Gay. I would have gone with "The Attention Whore" personally, but it regardless of how you feel about Sea Shepherd, there is no denying it's a bad ass looking ship.

  9. Yeah it looks nice and all. But the moment they try to ram another fishing boat, it'll just snap like a twig.

right that pic is an obvious shop, but they have the ship
    read:
    http://www.ecorazzi.com/2010/10/24/sea-shepherds-new-interceptor-vessel-revealed/
[UPDATE 2: At the presentation, Sea Shepherd said that while they've secured the vessel, they've yet to fully pay for it. In addition, it does not have a name, but that any interested donors with deep pockets ($1m+) should certainly contact them. For now the ship is simply being called the "Interceptor".]
[UPDATE 5: Some higher-res photoshopped images (as suspected, the ship hasn't been given the full SS color scheme yet) courtesy of Kadi Thingvall added below.]

They get massive donations from celebrities who either think they're doing the right thing or try to become somewhat more popular by donating to a "charity".

  15. not really from celebrities.. just idiots and greenpeace.

  16. They also receive funding from so-called legitimate charities, like Greenpeace, PETA, and so on.

who would be foolish enough to donate money to PETA and greenpeace? i heard they were terror groups disguised as "charities" and then you have the sea shepherd team...if that doesn't say piracy then idk what does anymore

  18. They were retarded from the very start to design a boat that was "designed" to be destroyed.
What kind of idiot would build an "interceptor" out of plastic & fiberglass.
Any fool could see "Set Up" from a nautical mile away.

    -
If they're going to use something as an interceptor, it had better be built tougher, and have over powered engines.
Like a refurbished ocean going tug, with a sleeker hull shape.
So instead of a "cigarette boat" it would be more like a "hoaggie on steroids".
Or better yet, build a submarine (like a WW2 era boat), so that it can ram ships below the water line, that way they can live up to being Eco-Terrorists of the high seas.
No need for torpedos, just a reinforced bow, and big engines with cowled thrusters instead of exposed propellers.

and a happy face on the bow, instead of the typical sharks grin.

    ^_^
