So, how many Japanese schoolgirls actually wear sailor uniforms?

I've been wondering for a long time. Almost every time I see pictures of Japanese schoolgirls, they're wearing western-style school uniforms. Sailor uniforms seem to be worn by less than 10%, and it may be much lower than that.

So how rare are sailor uniforms nowadays? Do they basically only exist in anime, AV and a very small number of old-fashioned schools? Or is there still a decent number or schools that make the girls wear them?

I've also noticed that they seem to be more common as summer uniforms than winter ones. Any truth in that? Or am I just looking for patterns?

I've noticed the sailor uniforms show up in games and anime that take place in the early 90's and before. maybe it's simply a look who's time has come and gone.

I searched around but couldn't find anything stating that they were currently in use but at the same time couldn't find anything to say they weren't.

Well hes already stalking middleschool girls on his bike and has yet to be arrested. It would be funny to see an article posted here on Sancom about a creepy foreigner (Vegio) being arrested outside of a middleschool.

Yup! And we can serve curry bread, and chocolate cornets, and the girls will leaves notes in the shoe-box thingies of boys and their teachers asking them to meet behind the sakura tree. And since we'll be teachers, we'll be able to get away with systematic molestation!

Are Japanese people aware of the pedobear meme? I know he's a Japanese character, but do they know what he's become the mascot of?

You'd be better off breaking into a school during sports day, commandeering a megaphone and shouting "I'm a lolicon".

Sounds good, also just for clarification its a girls only school. With us as the only male teachers (no need for anymore competition). *licks lips* Its gonna be a loli-licious time.
