The Retro Thread

  1. My retro check list:
1.I had a Vectrex game when I was a kid. I will be impressed if anyone knows what that is.
2.I love the old Looney Tunes cartoons from the 40's to the 60's. The good old days, when they could drink and smoke in cartoons.
3.I try to make everyone I meet watch Frank Bakshi's Wizards.
4.I owned vinyl records and not in an ironic way. Blondie's Heart of Glass was my first album.

Sigh, the good old days. How I long for them!

Only a select few (here) can really appreciate the RETRO Days...

LooneyTunes was OK (at the times), when I watched them while they actually aired, then later I started to hate the slapstick efforts, because they were so commonplace during that time.

Everyone was using them, cartoons, sitcoms, variety shows - now? - I don't really like to watch them anymore... though I do get reminiscent - 'of days gone by' - when I see clips of them on YT!

In the same vein how many remember -

    "Fritz the Cat?"

  12. I dunno if late 90s games can be considered 'retro' just yet...

but Baldur's Gate is getting a re-release on PC, Mac, and iPad.
    look forward to September 18th.
($20 for PC and Mac versions. $10 for the ipad one).

  17. Since the OP. I don't agree, but it's not my thread.

  18. Ok maybe make the cut off the early to mid 90s.
Ford was marketing high performance 4 cylinders decades before Honda did anything remotely high performance in production cars.

  19. They were talking about Chicago in the food thread and it reminded me of the one thing I really would like to see there: the U-505.
