Higurashi: I am confus! (spoilers)

I'm not sure whether I'll get an answer, but I'll give it a go anyway...

So, in Tatarigoroshi-hen, Keiichi gets confused when he spends the night of Watanagashi killing Teppei Hojo, but gets told by the rest of the club that they all had fun at the festival with him. Teppei also seems to still be alive and abusing Satoko after Keiichi "killed" him.

WTF?

I've just finished playing all of the answer arcs and I can't seem to find anything explaining what happened. Did I miss some vital information somewhere, or did Ryukishi07 forget about all of this and not bother to explain what happened in Minagoroshi-hen? Did Keiichi just go crazy and imagine everything because of the virus?

If I remember correctly, his friends tried to 'protect' him, giving him an alibi for the police. And Satoko was already in a mental state where she would imagine her uncle to be still alive.

Yes, I guess this is the answer. But it's Higurashi so don't try for God's sake just don't try to search for logic in it :)

Yeah I never really got that part, either. Keiichi imagining the whole thing seems most plausible.

The alibi thing seems like the most likely explanation, but there's still something confusing.

Firstly, it implies that they all knew he was up to no good during Watanagashi and all planned to give him an alibi. I can see Rena and Mion figuring it out between themselves (since Rena is intuitive and Mion drew a link between Keiichi and Satoshi's respective requests for one of the Sonozaki twins to look after Satoko), but I have difficulty seeing all of the girls doing that and then never mentioning anything to Keiichi when they were alone together.

But maybe Ryukishi07 overlooked that...

I'll have to have another look at that arc to see if the girls say anything that shows they know Keiichi had been a naughty boy.
