Oh boy... I can see allot of fan-boys will be raging over this.
Kinda contradicts what the Japanese had been saying about western games. Because, the main character of this game is certainly not "masculine".

1. They rebooted DMC RIGHT AFTER INTRODUCING NERO?!
2. The new design for Dante.... It just looks wrong. I can't put it in exact words. Indeed he looks more like somehow I'd usually see from Western studios, but the lazy ones. Just looks... lazy.

I can't see how the new Dante looks like Edward from 'Twilight'.
If anything, seems more to me like they're trying to make Dante into a grittier, younger and skinnier Brad Pitt. Regardless the design sucked with its oversimplicity. Ninja Theory is too eager on setting their DMC apart from Capcom's that they're not honoring the title.
Instead of 'rebooting' into something that has NOTHING to relate other than the character's name, they shoould just make a new game with a new IP.

The Devil May Cry series had a western style from the beginning. European gothic architecture, blond haired-large breasted female sidekicks, guns, etc.
I really enjoyed the gothic theme from the old games. If this is their concept of where they want to take the series, then I'm not sure I want to follow them. The new design doesn't look effeminate to me, although I welcome effeminate male leads, (compared to Gears of War, God of War, etc.), but I REALLY dislike Dante's redesign.Bring back the original Dante. Keep some semblance from the original. Then have him a modern urban setting.

I can definitely see the western touches on the face. I like it, finally a man's face that actually looks like it belongs to a man. Smokin' hott.
Reminds me of Batman Beyond more than DMC though. :/

The redesign doesn't have the ass-kicking appeal of the original Dante.
It also doesn't match his smart-ass talking attitude with that new emo look of his in the reboot.If they planned this from the start they should have just went on with the story after the events of DMC 4 even if Dante will remain as a 2nd playable character like in DMC 4.Personally I would like to have him back as the lead with his old character design and not an anorexic-looking remodeling.Posted 5 years ago # -

All I can say is that I'm pissed. Hopefully it there is enough complaints about Dante's redesign maybe the developers will change his design again but this time make him look more similar to his old apperance. Infamous 2 changed Cole's design and alot of fans were pissed about that so latter on the developers changed his design again to make it look more similar to his design from the first game. So who knows, maybe if were lucky it can happen with the new DMC & Dante as well.
