  1. I've just seen the entire "Gantz" anime series and I'm stumped as to what the ending or even the actual purpose of the "Black Ball of Death" as I call it. So I wanted to hear about some theories as to what people think the meaning of that Lain-esque ending was and the why, what and where of gantz the Black Ball of death.
For example: "why do you thik their was a person inside Gantz? I think this is an obvious indication that the Black Ball of death is a type of cybernetic tech.I think it could be like a computer networked to an off site location"

Please use warnings of manga spoilers (I' haven't read it yet). Thankx for your participation,I value your ideas.

  2. I watched only a few episodes of Gantz. It had no sense or logic whatsoever - it was just hentai+guro. So are you really surprised that the ending had no sense or conclusion ?

  3. I only saw the first episode... It was too slow pace for me and alot less violent compared to the manga...

Also I felt that the voice actors were a bit too calm... (<--too unatural)

  4. I know the answers because i read the manga.
It's really good so give it a try.
Much better than the anime imo.

  5. The ending had to be made up completely since the manga is still ongoing. Therefore having an ending that made no sense didn't really matter to the creators--they just did their job animating a portion of it. So just read the manga if you liked the anime.

Much better than the anime. This is a fact.

fixed. Fuck the anime, it had DBZ syndrome. The best thing about the anime for me was Super Shooter and LAST KISS. I grew to be a big BONNIE PINK fan because that show brought another one of her songs to my attention(already knew "It's gonna rain" from Kenshin).

  7. i took the ending as gantz was trying to show K that he was already dead. and that he couldnt beat the gantz even if he wanted to. i think thats why he put him at the train station, to show him that all his fighting was pointless.
but if you notice after the credits it shows the train roaring by, the picture is from a security cam. i think K died and that was the last time he was ever "seen".

i suggest reading the manga, it will answer all your questions and the last arc never happens. i dont read a lot of manga but i love gantz :)

OHHH....thank god. Someone else said it so I didn't have to. The Manga is 100% 'better' and satisfying than the Anime. The Anime is a good visual experience but the Manga is soo much more involved.

Here's 1 reason why without getting too specific:

You get to see what happens when a player(s) reaches 100 points.

I'm looking forward to the LIVE movie - hopefully it will follow the mnaga more.

I think Bonnie Pink was really the first time I was 'Moved' by a seiyuu's passion in singing. That song still haunts me - It's soo deep and sad as you watch the 3 of them walking and then K is all by himself - so sad.

I loved the opening "Super Shooter". With the success of "Dexter" & "True Blood" I can't see why someone wouldn't want to adapt "Gantz" into a Original Live action series for Pay Cable. It would have alot of water cooler moments and freak alot of people out.

Anyone know where I can find the 'creepy opera' type music they play when the characters go thru the transport scan into the apartment room? I love that music. Before anyone Bitches and screams 'Request Thread' - this is in line with the rest of my topic...so shut the fuck up.

  13. More likely to get answered in the request thread, though.

    It needs a bump, anyway.
