Are all Japanese LGBTs?

  1. Think about it: lesbianism is thought to be a normal "phase" of youth in Japanese girls; Japanese men generally don't adhere to "masculinity" as much as people in the west; homosexuality was custom in ancient Japan; the obsession for futanari, trannies, and newhalves; all the gender-bending/shotacon/BL/bara/crossdressing stuff being consumed by men; etc.

Seems like most people in Japan are homosexual, bi or pansexual, given that apparently biological sex isn't as important for men as secondary or tertiary sexual characteristics (like clothing, traits, roles, etc.), and women pretty much can have romantic and/or sexual relationships with either gender.

  2. Are all americans heterosexual?

Those questions are different, but the answer is the same.

  3. Let's ask 2ch that question see why they like der-bending/shotacon/BL/bara/crossdressing?

For some reason this would be interesting to ask since they say we like Macho men.

  5. Perhaps they're just a little more open to that sort of thing than the west... if they are good on them, lets follow suit.

If so, why don't gays have any legal recognition or rights in Japan?

  7. Many men everywhere behave like pussies so there's no reason to say only Japanese are like that. Japanese are just more open. Men in other countries just pretend to be better than women - even though they are just women with a penis >_<
    Have a nice day :)

  8. Japan is open sexually only in private. They are closet perverts where anything goes but in public are polite upstanding peoples. The same can be said of other societies with porn.

    Sexuality isn't static.

Actually, that doesn't matter because you're assuming really archaic heteronormative gender roles and evidently you associate transsexualism/transgenderism with homosexuality and the like (a really dumb thing to do) so I don't know what else to say.

Basically, your presumptions about the Japanese are absurd and my doctor says I have too much water in my brain.

There's a large population of people from the west who love that stuff and western content made of this stuff.

  14. I would compare it to the Pre-christian Greek era. Homosexuality is more of a form a decadence or self indulgence to them rather then an orientation.

That's why I asked if they're LGBT, not just homosexuals; "LGBT" encompasses all that's considered "queer".

Then obviously the Japanese are clueless about psychology.

  18. Fun anecdote: a GLBT understanding group once came to speak at my school, and I accidentally called them GBLT. In other words, gay, bacon, lettuce, and tomato.

Maybe WE are the clueless ones. Western Psychology seems to have so much political and religious implication it does not have the unbiased perspective of a country that has no hang ups about gay sex. I would trust their take on this more then ours who have made it something about civil rights and birth rather then simple sexual desire and preference.

Liking wieners IMO is no different psychologically from liking blondes or leather or lolis. Unless of course you have Gender dismorphic disorder the it gets more complicated.

If Japan has no problems with homosexuality, why is it rarely discussed or acknowledged today? Most (if not all) of the Japanese surveys shown on this website that deal with sex and relationships assume people only like the opposite sex. Gays and lesbians cannot form a union with any of the rights heterosexual couples get, and there's nothing that protects them from discrimination or abuse.

Japanese society holds several ideas that are outdated in every other developed nation (ironically, influenced by those same nations back then), and is reluctant to let them go, so I wouldn't count on an unbiased take on this.
