Cure the anime cancer

Or you form your own damn opinion and watch what you enjoy which may or may not include Naruto and/or Bleach.

I enjoy watching both, along with a whole lot of other anime. Never liked either for the plot though, but love the humor (and yes I do like some 'fillers' more than the actual story). Hating on narutards is just as bad as being one.
Just form your own opinion and get along with the rest of the world that might or might not share it.

  2. ...I never watched Naruto,
I remember when I started anime, I was sick in bed, or just playing hookey, I dont remember, and decided to look into what this 'anime' thing was. First thing I saw was Naruto, and I couldn't bring to watch a full episode of a show about a ninja who wears yellow and kills people with angst, but then, on the same website (I used to stream :| ), I found Girl Meets Girl, I don't know why, but something about a boy being turned into a girl then engaging in a lesbian love triangle is appealing to me.

Now two years later I'm sancons resident lolicon.

Took ages to come to terms with fapping to 2d. >.>

Lost Universe is a great cure for Narutardation it one of the animes that cure me.

Not gotten round to watching it yet.

I started Skygirls, but gave it up on the 2nd episode, because it felt very childish, but this was back when I was getting into anime. I'd try it again now, if I could find a decent copy.

You know I think there's a difference between a "Narutard" and someone that watches Naruto. A Narutard is an obnoxious wanna-be anime fan that has barely watched anything outside of a narrow group of shows that is hardly representative of quality anime that has been produced. They also have a tendency to glorify Naruto as if it's omg the best show evar, when it simply isn't.

I can't stand Narutards, I can stand someone that watches Naruto.

i agree. i was gonna say that too but i wasn't sure if this thread is drawing on that standard.

from my understanding narutards are fans that overrate the anime and doing geekish things which i see as a disrespect to the author, degrading his work.

Everyone admitting to watch the damn thing gets shoved into that box though.
Luckily I'm not very sociable person and really don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks of me about these kind of things.

  7. I am in the "let people like what they like" camp here, sorry.

And Lost Universe is from the same creator as The Slayers (supposedly it takes place on another plane of existence as the Slayers verse) but I found it to be absolutely horrible. Slayers is probably my favorite thing ever in any form of media but LU was pure crap; Kanzaka should stick to fantasy.

Well we all can't like the same anime. LU was just one of the first anime I watch that was not on TV.
and that is why people should not judge all anime the same just by watching one or two animes.

  9. @CC (and maybe Atma aswell)

I agree that people should watch whatever they like. That's the whole point of my topic: people should stop being narrow minded, and be open for every genre.

I watched Naruto myself for a pretty long time, and I don't care whether people like it or hate it, I still like Naruto.
HOWEVER, that's not the point here.

Like someone stated already, Narutards are people who can't enjoy other anime other than typical shounen like Naruto. That's a shame, because there are countless other good anime out there.
    That is all.

  10. Probably the best anime for people who watch filler-laden shounen shows like Naruto exclusively would be Index, on account of the fact that it is of similar style but free from filler training arcs. Well, at least among recent series anyway.

  11. You can't cure Narutards. Trying to introduce good series to my anime club has taught me this.

The chances might be low, but I managed to convert one Narutard into a slice-of-life-tard via a complete dose of Minami-ke and Hidamari Sketch. Not much success with the rest.

    Give it some (more) time.

I don't think giving Narutards hentai cures them so much as gets them addicted to hentai, which is usually a far cry from real anime. I'd even call it a step in the wrong direction, unless you can somehow switch them from hentai to ecchi (like KissxSis or something), and then to standard moe. Which is pretty hard to do. They usually can't understand why the production quality is so high and end up going back to Naruto.
