i never read the manga, but i wonder if sticking to the main source (just like what's done to DBZ Kai) will make the anime version better...

No just no. I say rerelease and bring stars over this time.
edit forgot to say that i belive they should do the same for ALL the shows butchered by 4 kids and cardcaptor sakura. Bring em all over uncut and uncencored.

If they switch their market segment from girls to ronery otakus, I can't see why no company wouldn't consider.
Pretty Cure series worked well, didn't it?
Of course, it would require a butcher of the original manga, but I won't expect any loss in sales if the anime pleases the otaku crowd enough for them to pay for all the overpriced Blu-Ray releases.
At the vain of oldtime SM fans though.
Me, I like Rei Hino just for her looks. All else be damned.

Cardcaptor Sakura would be great if they followed it EXACTLY according to the manga...no skipping of the romantic feelings between the characters, especially the teacher/student relationship, the yuri and yaoi feelings. I hated the english release of cardcaptors...it was terribly butchered.

It could be quite interesting.
It would be probably better to make a completely new show in the style of SMoon with alike characters. I.e. if SMoon would have the char. design of Kampfer...? "plot" + action + fanservice...
Or just take SMoon and make Vocaloids the main characters :) Imagine Miku as SailorMoon and the foes would be UTAUs :) and they would change all people into K-ON characters to find the ultimative moe-blob with the power to destroy the world (Mio)= moe moe kyun

I have been watching cardcaptor sakura uncencored I like it but I only got to around episode 50. I'm planning on watching the wrest at some point. Oh by the why you guys do know that Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle is a sequel to cardcaptor sakura right?

Yeah i recently finished the blu ray release well a few months ago and yeah cardcaptor sakura uncensored rules. I didn;'t get it during it's us airing so i avoided hell. Well i did see the cn version hella nice opening well as a teen i thought so. Now i really do need to find the tsubasa chronicles ovas.

Ok,
I watched "Sailor Moon" when it appeared in the early mornings (starting at) 0330 - 0400hrs Mon - Friday and was a "treat" to watch.
I watched both versions of it, censored and uncensored, and of course enjoyed the uncensored version of it.
I (personally) would like to see it "revamped" and updated in today's animé style.
Update the uniforms, yet, keep them recognized, and Yea, make their persona's as they are (more) Yandere, Tsundere (etc) and make those battle/fight scenes as BAD ASS as they can be.
Like the fight scenes in Agent Aika or persona characteristics similar to Kämpfer.
I guess for me, its just what I like.
I also would suggest that they do away with the Mysterious Tuxedo Mask plot and just stay - *focused* - on the girls, making them more as they are as they aggressively attend to the adventures facing them.
Romance is ok, as long as its done properly, and is not so *cheesy*.
Besides, we really haven't seen many new Yandere personae and its about time we did.
