  1. It seems EA's Medal of Honor the game has provoked an outcry in the UK. All because of multiplayer set-up, soldiers are fighting against the Taliban.

  2. I guess its inevitable people were gonna complain, but when it comes down to it, so many games allow you to play as the percieved 'bad guys' and in a sense thats just as disrespectful to those who died in those wars, as playing the Taliban is disrespectful to those who died in the war in Afganistan.

I'm not gonna take sides here because I don't have relatives in Afganistan, so I don't know how it feels, but at the end of the day, is only a game and I doubt the complaints are gonna stop the games release.

  3. here we go again...

although the soldier and taliban does not really represent anyone who dying in the Afghanistan...people still complain

all EA sport have to do is making the taliban wearing sombrero hat, priest wardrobe and hold pink water gun that shoot AK-47 bullets

that should solve the problem no? maybe only a few mexican priest who die in that war will protest...but that's small amount to be worry for..beside, it's just water gun...change the blood effect to water and EA can claim that no one die in the game, just some taliban and troop playing around

  4. But thne they'd complain about people making light of the war and not demonizing the enemy.

I stopped reading the article after this line. Is it really serious at all?

At any rate, it looks like the oversensitivity in relation to video games that we've come to know so well is the main subject of the article.

People bring this up about playing in a Video game about one side or the otherside they don't want to play because that side kill someone they known in real life.

No, it had all disappeared at a young age; it just gets temporarily restored by a little bit every so often, as if someone is using a phoenix down on it. Of course, that faith soon gets killed again.

Yes incredibly naive. If you look deep enough into every person, you can see how dark their hearts really are, all they need is just a big enough push to act upon it. Theres no point in having faith in people that refuse to change because it upsets their daily regement of mediocrity, or they're so stupid that they have an aura of stupidity that affects everyone and everything around them.

Just as long as you see the light now, is all that matters!

I'm glad you see the light my friend! As for those demons, it really depends on how big they are. I live quite happily with my demons out and amock because i understand that i'm in no position to go berserk without any consequences. I'm just waiting for the world to end up like H.O.T.D so i can go on a zombie slaughterfest to release all my pent-up rage.

  19. I'm surprised something as minor as this would make a big splash. Games have been like this for a long time. It's nothing new, and the people that are shocked by it clearly have never played any war related games before.

Its because people nitpick far too much. One game its nazi's,one game its japanese, one game is koreans, and now its finally afgani's. Whats the fucking difference, its a video game and its not hurting anyone.
