Honestly,it looks like it will fail very, very hard.
But I'll still watch it because I am such a fanboy.

The September issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine is announcing on Tuesday that a .hack//Quantum anime adaptation of Bandai Namco Games' .hack games has been green-lit. The popular .hack role-playing game franchise revolves around adventures in a fictional online game called The World. In .hack//Quantum, the characters Sakuya, Tobias, and Meari form a party and embark on a high-difficulty-level quest in The World R:X. (The World R:X is the new version of The World seen in this year's .hack//Link game for the Sony PSP.)

Along with Mazinkaizer SKL and Koisento, the .hack//Quantum anime will be shown at the "Anime Fes. 'VS' presented by Bandai Visual" event. (The event's future website already has an address.) The event will travel to Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya starting on November 27.

Bandai Namco Games announced at last September's Tokyo Game Show that a full-CG anime project from Bandai Visual would tie into the .hack//Link game. However, it has not been announced yet whether or not the new .hack//Quantum anime is the same project.

i never did finish the games...
i had planed to watch/read/play everything .hack related
but it all came out so fast that i just gave up.

all i got to was:

Beat .hack//INFECTION
Saw .hack//Liminality
SAw .hack//SIGN
Saw .hack//Legend of the Twilight
Didn't finish .hack//Roots

maybe one day i'll finish it all....

That game brings back such great memories. XD I remember I tagged along with a friend who was going to buy that game. And you know how the minimaps in dungeons are red and brown? I think it was brown hallways, and red for doors or something? I don't remember too well. Anyway- He was colourblind and couldn't tell the difference between red and brown, so he had no idea where to go. That was brilliant.

.hack is slow-paced series with really deep characters. It is anime/game/manga/novel with really out-of-the-box thinking. Instead of depending on the action or progressing of story it depends on the characters and their backgrounds, feelings and mentantly while they are playing the game.

Why the series has so different approach may be because this series is affected by some people from Evangelion and Eden of the East. You either love it or hate it.
As for me.. I've grown to love .hack, and it's sad that the .hack//link was the final game and this is the last anime.

Thanks for the input, Gave me interest since it was dubbed. Also Since my sister has one of the Novels, I'll read it.

.Hack is hard to get into if your not a fan of the games. I watched //sign, played GU vol. 1, and read some of the manga and enjoyed it, but it's slow pacing will probably turn off some viewers.

I first saw sign on cn myself back in the day since then i've seen liminality plyed the first 4 games and prt of roots on cn. Also i have the first two of gu nd have seen most of twilight brcelet. BTW to the guy who sid roots ws on dult swim it wasn't it was on the 5:00 am airing here which puts nit JUST past adult swim.
