Well, I don't think so. Katana is easy to break and rust. If you want to make it sharp, it will be easy to break. And if you want to make it strong, it will be very heavy and not very sharp. If you don't oil it, it will get rust. I don't want to say katana is a shit weapon, this sword is good, it's pretty light though. But you must to take a good care of it, or else it will be broken. And katana can't be used in a hard combat, you can use a crowbar instead. Crowbar can be used to block your opponent's sword and crush their skull with it. If you don't like crowbar, you can use a nightstick or a fire axe. But nightstick isn't very good due to it's low range. With a fire axe, you can swing it to your opponent's head or chest to finish them off, or you can swing it to their hands or feet to make a great pain.
Well, happy brawling!

Obviously the spear of longinus is the best weapon, don't even need to 'melee' with it, just throw it!

Oh, I like those forks from Nathan's.
Umm..depends on the situation I guess. If there's a lot of open space, something long and pointy. If it's enclosed space like a room, something short and pointy. Oh and if I'm fighting something with armor, something blunt and hard.

I could throw you my axe.
Not to mention it's battery powered. Real hassle. I'll stick with my crowbar.
Edit: There are also chainsaws that use hydraulics and compressed air. But most of them are battery-powered.

This is probably the tenth time I've seen someone trying to break the katana-is-a-super-sword belief.

Personally I'll use a shovel for a mid-range fight, and a combat knife for close-quarters.
If there existed a katana like the Yamato, then I would prefer that over any meele weapon(as for katana's speaking).Posted 5 years ago # -

Can't beat you there.
A sword I really like is Michael the 13th from Ga-Rei Zero. I just really like the mechanics of it.
