My apologies. It should be don't have either. I was thinking it would more fun to include everybody in SanCom, regardless if they have a waifu/husbando or not.

    ======

That would cause issues beyond anything else... not to mention an - "open invitation" - to mass trolling...

This were my proposal falls in. I was thinking for those honest folk who don't have waifus/husbandos be given what I call sanctioned partnerships. For the duration of the tournament, they request and be assigned to a character so long as they are not the same as anyone else and definitely not the same as the people who have waifus/husbandos.

  3. There's no point in that.

Anyway, other people can participate by voting and critiquing.

If that's the case, what's the point in relegating it to only waifus/husbandos?

It's not everybody is going to join with open arms (or probably be motivated to join) and restrictions will still be in place. But since I wanted to make the tournament sancom in general and not specifically in the waifus/husbando movement, I thought it should be open to those who might want to join but otherwise couldn't because they don't have a waifus/husbando.

    Sir ~

I completely understand what your motivators are concerning this idea.

Its not to say its a bad one or that it can't be done. ~ NO.

If this is what you wish, then your going to have to place rules, limitations, already from the get-go.

    1. You're going to have to consider a limit amount of those who wish to join (to a set number) this way, you can gauge, if this idea will work out and be successful for future tourney's.

What that magic numerical will be should be (per suggestion) limited to 5 - 10 only and no more, but this is up to you.

    2. Participants need to be serious and not - "testing" - and wasting the other participants time with waffling (including) attacking ones Waifu/Husbando in the process.

Yes, I know I sound like broken record, but I am also not going to change my stance on it either, (and I am fully aware that some will disagree) - nonetheless - I am mentioning the one singular individual who is biased from the get go, whose antics - "seem to the wealth of the party" - (for some) - but in all actuality, are annoying to the purpose of the Tourney, making it a joke.

YOU worked hard to maintain this Tourney, and I for one, don't want to see it maligned in any manner (jokingly or not).

If Mr.Rose makes it so people without a waifu can participate, then i should also be able to pick a girl that isn't my waifu.
I'm just pointing that out my fluffy Taiga. It doesn't work.

  11. Greetings ~

After some drive time in the desert, having lunch at the greasy spoon (a throw back from the 1960's diner) along the abandoned highway and byways, drinking coffee during a sandstorm, and looking over the past Tourney threads whilst doing some thinking...

I have decided - NOT TO PARTICIPATE - in this years Tourney, for the reasons that I cite as - "Conflict of Interests" - which should be obvious to all here.

This should also quell the "ass"-umptions of (bias) and that I am always accused of, as well as the (thought process's) that I should not participate due to being Moderator.

This, in addition to various other factors, made me come to this decision.

I know many will accept this decision gladly (while some few) will not... however, I shall defend this decision made, and will carry on as normally as always.

Of course, if many questions should arise from this, they can be asked through PM...

No it does not, but when it comes to policing and keeping order - its a can of worms to allow the anons and lurkers who normally do not participate in forum activities - an open opportunity to sow chaos.

While I appreciate your motives and the concerns of the mods. You want an incentive to bring in new blood to the forum. Though I don't know if we could get an artecle on the front page to generate interest from the anons and lurkers, who post on the main page.

Also, while there are lots of potential for temporary affiliations, there will be conflicts because some users have more zeal than others and may object to having to share a popular mate with another. If you allow such a thing for the gameplay of the tourney.
While there are ample potential waifu/husbandos in the current animu line up, eventually there will be others who will contest the posession of one or another, this is a concern that invites chaos.

As the senior mod mentioned - rules must be made and enforced with an iron gauntlet to keep the peace and order that the current forum enjoys. Chaos will eventually spill over to other threads and this is a concern for the mods.

It may not be such a good idea to bring in new blood in this fashion.
    - just saiyan.

  18. As it seems, as expected, there are notable concerns about my proposal. I can understand people's concern regarding the possibility of chaos. My intended goals was not really to bring otherwise unknowns and new bloods of the site in the tournament but rather those regular members who don't have waifus/husbandos the opportunity to join. But even if it's a bad idea to "extend the franchise", wouldn't it be just as possible for mess to happen if the tournament was relegated to only waifus/husbandos?

Think about it. There's few restrictions on claiming and divorce a waifu/husbando. Say for instance anons and lurkers learn about the tournament (only relegated to waifus/husbandos) and claims a waifus/husbandos. Wouldn't that be just as problematic? The 2nd Waifu Tournament was difficult and the Spousu Tournament was downright messy. You wouldn't think that given the motive and the liberal rules of waifu/husbando here, the person in question would get a waifu/husbando, enter the tournament, cause a mess, and discard the waifu/husbando when it's all done?

This is merely a proposal. This is not set in stone. The mess caused in the last two tournaments was exactly why I'm doing this. I can't stress this enough. Everybody will not be joining with open arms (if they're motivated to join) and restrictions will still be in place. By simply proposing the extension of the franchise, It doesn't mean that I open the field for anybody join. It is my expectations of concerns that I made a few suggestions regarding restrictions surrounding this subject:

If in the possibility that the franchise will be extended to those without waifus/husbandos, special rules will be set in order to have the tournament run smoothly.

    1. The person will have to be a member of this forum.
    2. The person must be a regular or a trusted member
    3. There will be a board to review such members who do join.
    4. There will be a limit on the number of contestants joining.
    5. The members who want to join but don't have a waifu/husbando will be assigned to a sanctioned partnership with a character (that is not claimed in the waifu/husbando list) the request for which will be reviewed and voted for approval. The character in question will be assigned to one member and can't be shared by anyone else.
    6. Those members who do have waifu/husbando recognized here will have exclusive rights to them in the tournament. Only they will decide to give them to someone for them to enter with in the tournament with proof of the deal.
    7. Any member regardless of their status must abide to any rules given to them. In the case if a member is becoming a problem disqualifications and bans from voting/critique will be in order and enforced vigorously.

Like I said, this is merely a proposal. Noting has been decided yet. If this will be a unpopular plan then I will be forced to scrap it and have the franchise of the tournament remain as it is. But keep in mind that same problems some are concerned with would happen when I extended it to members with husbandos (in which only one participated) with no consent? So I'll see if anyone still have legitimate concerns even with my suggestions in place. In that, I will have to respect that and scrap my plan.
