A 31-year old unemployed Japanese man by the name of Shuichiro Tanaka was arrested for uploading 3 TV shows and sharing more then he could afford he is facing charges of copyright infringement.

Personally I prefer newsgroups that allow me access to data that can't be seen for what it is whilst I download it. Love my custom modem and router.

I reckon it's the fact that people who watch the tv show online don't see the advertisements that accompany the tv show, which affects the revenue of the broadcasters.
They should start arresting people who uses DDR, DVD burner, and VCR recorders to record tv shows next.

On the contrary many Japanese variety shows distributed online do contain commercials. A large portion of my collection has them as well. The ones that don't are usually recorded through on-demand services from the cable provider.

Well they might as well send Shuichiro Tanaka back to where he came from.
If I had to guess 2ch's mind then I would assume they would congratulate his capture because he was sharing variety shows instead of the latest moe anime unless it was morning musume or some other otaku centric variety show then some might display a thimble full of sympathy.
