   The developers of 4chan developed cripple girl eroge Katawa Shoujo are not amused at being connected to 4chan, despite naming themselves after the site and having started their project on a thread in /a/ many moons ago.

   They sternly rebuked Sankaku Complex, perhaps oblivious to all the extra attention the 4chan association garners them, in the following missive:

   G'day.

   Firstly, thanks for featuring us (twice, no less); your reports on us have sent a heap of people our way and got them interested in our game.

   However, there is one thing that is irking at lot of us in the development group; something that can't really be stopped all that easily.

   Yes, a couple of the devs came from 4chan, and our studio name, Four Leaf Studios, acknowledges that fact. But we are not affiliated with 4chan. It may seem a little petty, but every time I read a post about "The game that 4chan made..." I rage ever so slightly. I came into this project outside of 4chan (as did a number of others), and no real work was done on the project until we severed ties with the original "core team" from 4chan and struck out on our own.

   The 15 devs that work with me have worked long and hard to bring this game to fruition, often against the slings and arrows of all the *chans. To then have our hard work reported as if it were made by the anon horde is a little insulting.

   Anyway, this may just be me venting a little, but I'd really appreciate it if in any future posts you guys make about us you refrain from mentioning 4chan in the "development" role.

   So let there be no doubt: 4chan cripple fancying eroge Katawa Shoujo was only started on 4chan by a studio naming itself after 4chan, it was definitely not developed by 4chan itself.

   I can definitely see why they don't want to be associated w/ the anons of 4chan. I think he has a good point. It may have started at 4chan but most of the production was independent from it. It's not like the 4chan hordes are contributing any. The guy sounds really nice too.

   I thought so at first too. But then I realized this is a personal email to Artefact requesting future posts to not associate them with 4chan. He didn't say that he wanted Artefact to let everyone know they don't want to be associated w/ 4chan. Not only that, but this would cause an outrage in the comments since a lot of 4channers have been visiting sankaku lately. The trolls would come in hordes.

   It's not worth it. You'll just attract a lot of Anon E. Moose people.
   Possibly, most of the will ignore the article and will just troll for the sake of.. Trolling.

   I see why they wouldn't want to associate themselves with 4chan.
   Its nothing but a hyped up imageboard that is only good for finding images.Everything else is a bad joke...

    I dunno, the phrasing kind of supports what I heard elsewhere about the drama-filled history of the dev group. Something about only one of the original writers being left on the team after a shitstorm stirred up by new members of the team, although all the old writers' stuff is still being used... I dunno, but the

    kind of helps make that case in my mind... Their ideas, their groundwork and everything, but fuck'em, fuck where this project started, it's ours now and you shall refer to it as such. Doesn't really diminish the coolness of the game or anything, but it just smacks of douchebaggery and the more Sankaku focuses any coverage on the game rather than the dev team, the better.

    Yes, nobody cares about the devs. They'll likely never realise another game, let alone one worth mentioning, so perhaps it is better to immortalise them as "4chan".

    I mean 4chan is mostly about the lulz, even /rs/ is quite useless.
