P.S. Back when I was in high school a friend of mine let me play Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

I was disappointed in how quickly I finished Portal this time.

At first I played it only as a joke to see how bad it is.
The story in the first one was pretty meh, but the gamepley itself was rather good.
Now in the second one when the Organization dudes show up, that's when it starts getting interesting and the battles with them are easily the highlight of the series.
The thing that me pissed me off though is the fact that in KH II summons now use your Form Gauge instead of MP and that's retarded, also the entire magic system was far superior in the first game.
The MP recharge delay thing rendered MP potions almost completely useless.Posted 11 months ago # -

Chain of Memories was more important than most of 2! 2 was just fun while the coherence of the story was still there. Ethers were still used by a lot of people...you know why? Becames when you are playing the Colosseum, you are only using reflect for dear life. Summons were actually worth while in 2 as well.
The appeal to KH is the disney titles- Nomura always intended it as such. They could have actually just ran solely on Sora looking for Riku the entire franchise and people would still be as engrossed in the games. This overcomplicated and contradicting story of recent years is retarded.

I agree that the first game's story made the most sense but at the same time it was far too simple and forgettable. There's a reason why it's the least important. And yeah I suppose Chain of Memories matters the most plot-wise but unfortunately I haven't played it. I know the CoM story though.
As for the Ethers, sure you can use them but outside of the Colosseum more often than not, it's easier to just wait for your MP to recharge on its own. By the time you pick an Ether from the command menu, your MP bar will already be half full.
Oh yeah and another thing that pissed me off, they replaced Graviga, Stopga and Aeroga. And I never said summons are useless, it's just stupid that they use your Form Gauge and you need to pick either summoning or changing forms during battles. Not to mention they it takes ages to fill it up again.

Although the story does kinda get a little too convoluted, even sometimes reaching Matrix levels in the later games. I think I still prefer that to "Sora looking for Riku the entire time" because that's what the first game pretty much was. That would get really boring really fast.
Story:
KH2 > KH1
Gameplay:
KH1 > KH2 (except for the boss battles in 2)
In my opinion.

I liked KH1 more than KH2 because of all the Disney stuff. While I like Organization 13, I think that KH2 focused too much on them and didn't give enough attention to the Disney characters.

KH's focus on Disney properties is part of sucked about the series. They didn't mix well with the final Fantasy characters (though they easily could have- they didn't), and it tried to be the kiddie disney game and the young adult game at the same time. They really failed to deliver here.
KH's gameplay is definitely the best, it's just a damned shame that it's only in the 1st game, as it would have been great in the second. Though in both games, magic is rendered almost useless. Seriously; everyone I know just used MP for cure and aero. Rolling a redmage was only really a challenge because you had to buy potions, because they never dropped enough (unless you melee constantly, but that takes away from playing a full blown caster).
and Summons were gay in KH 2- not just how they used your form gauege, they summons you were allowed to have blew.
Well Stitch was pretty cool.

They really failed to deliver here.Square Enix knew they were gonna have to make the Disney characters the main attraction since they were going market it for westerners. Also the Disney to FF character ratio is pretty bad considering they only used characters from the 3D games (except FF9 because fuck Zidane).
The only reason the gameplay and story got edgier was that they probably realised their audience from the first game had grown up. I wish they could've used some Final Fantasy worlds for the princesses of Heart.

Playing FFVII 'cause I felt nostalgic. About 10 hours in. The Midgar part only took 5 hours. Felt much longer when I was younger.
Wanna play Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Comes out tomorrow(PC version). Dunno if I'll buy it right away or wait a bit for the price to go down. Playing Rainbow Six Vegas in the mean time.

Woohoo! Bought Future Soldier. Had a 20% off coupon for gamefly so I figured I might as well use it. Now I just wait till tomorrow for the download.

I liked Kingdom Hearts a lot when I played it as a 10-year-old. I played through about half of KH2 as well, but got bored and stopped.

"Last Ranker" by Capcom
The world is controlled by a system of rank: the stronger you are the higher your position and authority. Only the strong control the government and the weak can only live on the mercy of those that have fought their way to the top. These warriors are known as "Rankers."
A young man named Zig, a clansman of a minority that travels the deserts, throws away his culture to enter this world of "might makes right."
He vows to fight and claw his way to the top. He will be
"The Last Ranker."
The game play was original and exciting. The interface is a combination of action and turn-based that I personally found thrilling. Skillful tactics in battle can overcome much more powerful opponents but one slip and can leave you on the ground in short order even with relatively weak enemies.
More than anything, the setting was enthralling and the characters were quirky but intriguing.
