3rd Strike is extremely good, I love it. It's a shame that it's roster was junk though; only interesting characters were Dudley and Q.
DOA wasn't always as user friendly as the other 3d fighters around, hell, neither was Virtua Fighter- it's the industry catering to n00bz.
Oh and
Street Fighter Zero 3 is also really fucking good- don't try to pretend that it's not.

that aside. I'm almost done with katawa shoujo! I've just Lilly's route and then go back and pick up the few remaining cgs. I'm not sure what to think of rin's story. it was kinda hard to follow due to rin's uh nature. and that made hisao seem almost insane in his irrationality. plus I still can't figure out why he liked her in the first place.

This is another game I play a lot. I can not get anyone else to play it. It is better than Skull Girls imo.
DoA4 was pretty bad. Vanguard Princess is CRAZY fun though. This guy from georgia is getting it brought over, he had a set up at comic con. Got to play a few rounds. Lilith is such an annoying character...I love playing with her though. I suck at her however. I play Saki/Luna/MeganekkoNinja- Ayane. My Mayflash stick for PS2/3/PC broke last summer so I haven't played since then on my own. I was real comfortable with my Saki and Ayane.

Yeah it is one of my favorites. I think Lilith is annoying but not the easiest to play.

Holds got a huge buff, and sensible options got limited. If I earn a knockdown and I step towards you for an attack on you wake up...why must I guess 3 ways? I can't knockdown and profit because you got a 3 way combo starter for an okizeme. It also seems like so much hits mid despite it's looks. You can just throw out a hold- get damage in for randomly hitting the button and you could have been absolutely wrong in your guess. There is no true overhead in the game, overhead motion all in fact hit mid, save Ryu. The Ninja(s) and Tengu seem like the only viable characters for the engine in that state, they have uncounterable combos. Helena hits hard and Tina and Bass can grapple chain you for game. That's pretty much it.

I completely agree with the complaint that too many things hit mid when it looks like they probably hit high. but hold need to be powerful since they are the most difficult to land and punish you the most for failing to hit. it's like a risk vs reward thing. and i rather like the fact that it gives an opponent on the ground so many ways to get back up, it gives the player a chance to come back against the most aggressive players. there's nothing worse then getting stuck in a chain of attacks that you can't break out of.
