Gaming Thread (What game or games are you currently hung up on?)

Don't buy it because it's a terrible game.

Gameplay wise, it isn't 'terrible' in the strictest sense of the word. It's no KOF but the battle system had potential. It's just ruined because lack of polish, which is what you get when you rush the game out of the door.

    It wasn't really the devs' fault. The top brass at Capcom were super greedy and need to be shot for doing these;

    1. Forcing Ono to order the devs to wrap up the game even though they were only about 75% done according to milestones because "you're past deadline, fuckers. Move on!" Yea, extra development time costs money, but many other companies wouldn't have compromised if their game is still that shitty. *source was a leaked mail from Capcom UK, posted on capcom-unity before mods cleaned it up. sadly they were too efficient that no one managed to screencap the whole thing*

    2. Mere implementation of DLCs, with SFxT basically breaking the record for the most locked characters in a fighting game, totalling over 20% of whole rosters. Meanwhile Tekken Tag Tournament 2's over 50 characters will be joined by 4 more characters for console version, offered immediately with preorders and automatically unlocked for everyone else after 90 days of release, without extra costs.

Go to capcom-unity, or just any major gaming site boards and you'll see drones fronting up for Capcom citing money, money and money over and over again. Surely SFxT's advertising campaign was some of the most expensive in recent years, but you'll only cause your own failure if you compromise on quality. Now those fuckers are reaping what they sow; even console bitches are noticing drop in players online, and even though popular FGC programs on the net are still showing a few fights, all the big players and commentators can be heard dragging themselves about the game. AND THAT ROLENTO KNIFE/PROJECTILE GLITCH COULD TAKE UNTIL JULY TO BE PATCHED, WHILE ALL PLAYERS ARE GONNA GET CRASHED WITH PROJECTILES.

I want this game to fail. I don't care about that 60 bucks anymore; I'll consider it worth if it meant some motherfuckers in Capcom Japan's upper management will get their asses fired for handling of this game. Fuck all y'all.

It's fucking garbage, if this is unfinished; what the fuck is SF4?
Point is; developers make terrible games on purpose, because they make more money that way.
And Why the fuck is Rolento in that shitty faggot game anyway!? What ever happened to Katana, or Maki? Good characters that aren't fucking boring as shit! And don't you fucking get me started on guest characters... FUCKING PACMAN!? FUCKING SONY CAT!? FUCKING INFAMOUS FUCKING NIGGER PROTAGONIST!? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! SERIOUSLY WHAT THE RIVER BOILING FUCK!? WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU RETARDS PUT EL FUERTE!?
They used Andore and Poison, why not, oh I don't know- maybe the only luchador in either of the 2 universes other than King!? King and El Fuerte makes too much sense to not have! And wouldn'tcha fuckin' kow it- Chaolan Lee isn't in the fucking game. No- "We need to appeal to the millions of n00bz and niggers that play our games; throw Alexanderson Lars and Ogre in the fucking game." They also neglected to add Bruce Irvin (who would be a perfect response to Sagat), and Ganryu (FUCKING DUH!)
At least Rockman was done wel. At the very fucking least- at least Rockman was done well...
    Fucking niggers.

    Shit about roster choices.

You seem like you're more pissed about character selection than anything else.

Barring Infamous' Cole(which I agree doesn't really belong to either camp), they can't satisfy every fan on Earth if roster's the problem. A few fanbase will be inevitably ignored because they just can't put in everyone.

Or maybe I'm just indifferent because I like Cammy and I'm best with Juri, two of which were my most used and most winning pair ever before I stopped. It didn't help my reputation that since PC is not yet patched at all, Juri is seriously overpowered, but she's just my main since SSFIV and I can't seriously compete with any other character.

  4. i like how they practically gave Megaman to ps3 users for free, yet the 360 users have to pay for him as DLC(i haven't paid attention to that terrible game in a while so im not 100% on this)for SFxT

anyways, i'm really enjoying new vegas of what i've played so far.

I just downloaded the 3DS demo for Dead or Alive: Dimensions. It's great. I hadn't played any other game in the DOA series yet. I can't believe how good the battle system is. It's so polished.

In the demo, only an extremely short part of the "chronicle" mode is available, as well as arcade mode in which you can only choose Kasumi, Hayabusa, Jann Lee and Hitomi. I think they've intentionally set the difficulty to extremely easy to allow you to try out all the different throws and combos that the game neatly explains on the bottom screen. I tried out Jann Lee right away because he's one of my favourite characters (from watching videos, of course), but after trying out the others too, I've come to love all of them. Such great characters. Even Hayabusa, who I've always thought to look dumb, has grown on me. And ironically, his English voice sounds very cool. I was sad when I learned they put English voices in the game, but Hayabusa makes up for it a little. (Kasumi and Ayane sound pretty bad though, in my opinion...)

This has made me want to get the game. Excellent example of a demo moving someone to purchase.

That's all well and good Nin,
but the real question is - can you masturbate to it?

Either too much or too little to talk about when it comes t the game's mechanics- I'd be typing for hours or plainly pointing out that they'ev already had system that worked well and refuse to use them.
Roster, on the other hand, can still be okay even if the game is shit.
They fucked up the roster hardcore.
If they're gonna make a game terrible, the least they could do is give the players a decent roster.

Yes. I flip my 3DS shut with my penis sandwiched in between. The 3D effect makes it even better.

  10. I'm playing ME2 as a male renegade Shepard now. It feels really weird. He sounds so... insincere. I'm too used to female Shepard!

    I think I'm just trying to delay playing ME3 because I'm afraid of the ending ;-;

  12. I'm playing 2 text-based browser games at the moment, and found out that the social aspect of playing does add to a game's interest longevity.

I'm in alliances with forums for both of the games, without these my interest in the games would probably not have exceeded a month each.

This discovery came late for me because I'm not really into MMOs or multiplayer games...

  13. Playing fighting games made by capcom and not Aksys or team ninja. Lol That was your first mistake.

  14. I've been playing Diablo III since my friend gave me an invitation code to try it out and I'm disappointed. The first night, I played for a good 5 hours or so and had a blast. The next time I played, I noticed despite only getting to play the same area over again with a new character that I was having less and less fun. Now it's to the point where when I log on, I literally have no desire to play. I assumed I was going to like it a lot more from my initial play through, but the more time I sunk into it, the more I realized I didn't like it.

This is a both a bummer and a relief. I was going to buy the whole game after playing through it that first night and having a blast, but decided to hold off because I wanted to be sure. It appears now, buying it would have been the wrong choice. I'm bummed because I really hoping this would be a game that I could play with a number of my friends (they all play it and love it) and love. Oh well. I suppose not everyone can have the same tastes in games.

Anyway, is anyone looking forward to Quantum Conundrum? The leader developer was one the people who worked really heavily on the Portal series. So the game is promising a lot of difficult puzzles/challenges. It's also really cheap. I pre-ordered it from Steam for $13.49 (regular price is $14.99). Unfortunately, the game wasn't developed by Valve, but rather Square Enix, so whether or not it's going to be any good is still up in the air. I have high hopes though.

Sorry, but I start to take it personally when you mention Arc Systemworks and the endless revision of Guilty Gear XX. I mean seriously, GGXX currently is one game short of being SFII. I don't like Capcom that much, but when some GG fans talk shit about me because I play a Street Fighter game, it makes me wanna cave y'all's faces in.

Why don't you just go back and resume playing that overdesigned, flamboyantly weeabooish game instead of talking shit to me. Guilty Gear will never have the elegance of KOFs and it will never ever take the spotlight from Street Fighter games at EVO anyway, so it desperately needs to hold on to a few fans it still has.

Before you say it, know that I wouldn't have unleashed all this if you just shut the fuck up.

  17. James, did you really buy the PC version of SFxT for online play when most fighting game faggots stick to consoles?

    that's disappointing.

But the game still sucks. Stick to UMvC3 or Blazblue.

Both PS3 and X360 simply don't have enough games to make me want to buy either of them. I wouldn't have minded if this was still 1997 when PSX was still king. Oh, and SSFIVAE proves that PC still has a lot good people playing it, because I still play it today.

Going legit means that I have to spend big cash for each console or game I buy especially since they're 2 or 3 times the price you pay where I live. As such, I'm much more careful when spending for videogaming, except for a handful of instance when I suddenly have too much and buy on impulse(did that last time with Lord of Apocalypse, and regretted it).

Oh, and telling me to go from SFxT to UMvC3 is like telling me to go from listening to Lady Gaga to Justin Bieber; UMvC in my eyes is just a glorified Mugen copy-paste job. At least SFxT tries to create a story to explain why they all gathered there and the interaction between characters were uniquely decent.

As for BlazBlue, its system and overall design is just not my cup of tea, so let's leave it at that.

This become an apparent problem when you have no desire to play nightmare, hell and inferno mode. This game only shine when you reach those lvl. Switching to different char on normal mode will bore the shit out of you.

It is the idea of limitation you had when entering hell mode, and change your skill/item to cope up with the enemy that make it a challenging/fun game to play. I admit its not as fun as Skyrim since you will be going on the same 4 stages again and again. But still, one should not feel bored after just finished normal mode alone.

  20. Started playing K-On Houkago Live again. Need to get my groove back for when the HD version arrives.

That way I won't bog down the group during online multiplayer sessions. As long as nobody forces me to use Mugi, I'm pretty much set.
