I see all this talk of skyrim, and it makes me sad since I've yet had the chance to play it :(
It's probably not as great as you think it is.

Well I really liked oblivion so i was thinking I probably will like this one. But I hated fallout so who knows.
I actually liked oblivion better than skyrim. skyrim was so...very grey. and white. and more grey.

Ah, I was afraid of that. that was part of the reason i disliked fallout. exploring was boring because the world was just miles and miles of brown.

But it's realistic! When i go outside it's all brown and grey.

Just finished the Shadow Broker dlc for Mass Effect 2. Reading the dossiers on everybody was very entertaining. Especially Grunt's. Dinosaurs. Hehe <3
Shadow broker DLC was probably the best DLC ME2 had to offer, found it hard to get through the rest because of it
speaking of which i dl'd overlord a while ago and never bothered to play through it.

you must live in the middle of nowhere then.
Man i really need a sarcasm sign.
You do not. I understood. I like to play along with sarcasm. People usually assume I don't get it though. Especially in real life.
Maybe not especially in real life, that'd imply that sarcasm is harder to catch in real life than on the internet.
I dislike games where everything is just varying shades of grey and brown (and the occasional dark green).

so most shooters?

nah, i wasn't serious at all.

Pretty much.
Though, that's not the only reason I don't play many fps games.
I used to love playing fps's but lately they all just feel the same.
They caught the modern fps disease from COD. btw most of the fps games still have either the brownish q3 palette or the grayish ut palette of colors, despite the fact that even UT2003 transcended it.
I was disappointed in Serious Sam 3, because it got fully hit by the modern fps plague. No futuristic weapons, no colorful and cartoonish landscapes/enemies. The gameplay is the same, but without the colorful world, it's just not as good.
Halo
tf2 is best fps.
yeah, there are a few series out there that are keeping things fairly different, but the market is still over saturated with modern shooters. It's pretty much the same as when there were nothing but ww2 shooters. I'm kinda tired of shooting russians and terrorists. I want to go back to shooting nazis.

If you liked Oblivion, chances are you will like Skyrim, to what degree is unknown though. Oblivion was one of my favorite games, so naturally I assumed Skyrim was going to replace it on my list, but after putting a ton of hours in, I started to really compare to Oblivion, and they pretty much equaled out.
I think Oblivion did better with the guild/faction quests and Skyrim did better with the main story line. The faction stuff in Skyrim was kind of a let down. I had fun, but I enjoyed doing the tasks that were given to me in Oblivion a lot more. It was more than just fun in that game, I had a great experience. Skyrim was just fun, with a decent experience in terms of faction/guild stuff. However, I HATED the Oblivion main quest line so much. I got so bored. "Go shut down, YET ANOTHER GATE." "Oh boy, this is going to be something new..." I thought it every time. Skyrim was a lot better than that. I felt the main story line, while not super amazing, as it leaves a lot of questions unanswered, still delivered a much more engaging story. I had a lot of fun doing it, whereas in Oblivion, I just despised doing the same thing 20 different times.
As for Skyrim's environment, the white and grey isn't too bad actually. The landscape does change with the region. It may look a lot a like, but there are great mountain ranges, beautiful skies, awesome waterfalls, and a lot to take your mind off the fact that you're in a snowy region. The towns are also pretty unique and cool as well. Then you get to some of the dungeons, caves, towers, etc... and you see some even cooler stuff, especially in the Dwemer buildings.
All in all, I love Skyrim, probably as much as I love Oblivion. It wasn't the replacement game I thought it was going to be, but it was in no way a major disappointment like it had the potential to be. I suppose if you're a PS3 person, it's definitely an issue because of the load times and whatnot that come with a gigantic save file, but if you're PC it's pretty amazing, especially because you have the mod community making tons of great things for it. So needless to say, I think you'll enjoy Skyrim about as much as you enjoyed Oblivion. Maybe more, maybe less, but it probably won't be a deal breaker for you like Fallout. I wasn't a big fan of the Fallout series either, but I love both of these games.
Sorry for the long post, I had an even longer one, but decided to cut it down.
im gonna play dragon age again.
