Tired of bitches and whores? Unthinkable.

Eh, he got it on Adachi. I liked his voice, but the protagonist of every show since 2006 has to stop.

  13. it's uselessly long. Sure the story is somewhat interesting, and there are a lot of different characters with their own mentality and ethics, so you need to know them a bit before knowing how to deal with them. This adds depths, but at the same time it becomes frustrating when you don't know what to do if you don't want to be hated. You might want to save before every dialogue, check out all the routes, and then go on if you're satisfied.

The gameplay is, in a word, horrendous. You can only move one character in the party made of 4 people, and you can set other's behaviors so they adjust to some specific style - the truth is, the system doesn't work well. You yourself have it really hard to have an impact on the battles, since most of the time it looks like they either do well without you, or can't do anything good no matter what you do. Classes are not balanced at all, and the whole party might die for stupid reasons.

I tried to play it a couple of times; as a warrior first, and it was just boring. Battles, I mean, were really boring. As a mage, things went better, because with lots of area of effect spells you could actually make a difference. But not being able to control the tank, or to save other members of the party when they are in trouble is really frustrating.

First time I stopped because the city I reached was far too big and the gameplay was so boring I couldn't care less for the story, and the second time I stopped because I couldn't save the population of a village no matter how many times I tried.

Totally would not recommend, in this day and age. There are better titles that can entertain you with both plot and gameplay.

  14. Hey Vegio, there's a secret to controlling your other party members in battle

    You press the right bumper

There are lot of people who really love the strategy aspect of dragon age, and to call it bad is just naive. And it seems to me like you didn't even understand combat in the first place so I'm not going to bother to take your opinion seriously.

And as much as I love mass effect, Dragon age has a better world and story and did a much better job with character interaction and relationship.

What are you doing in the game? The main quest can be a little bit of a bore with how much running they have you doing to kill dragons. I had a lot more fun with the factions.

Also, what type of build are you using? That can really add or subtract to the fun. I personally had a lot of fun with the Khajiit. I turned mine into an assassin, first trained with daggers, light armor, sneak, pickpocket, and later bows. He's really effective at running through caves and the like being entirely undetected and dealing massive damage due to the 15x dagger damage and 3x sneak bonus.

My second build was a nord warrior. I built her with double handed weapons, heavy armor, smithing, and enchanting. My armor and weapons are incredibly powerful, so I rarely take damage and deal large amounts.

Too bad you said my same exact words when I first told you about the gameplay.

    "yeah the gameplay sucks"
"it's like there's no weight behind the strikes"
"it feels like no matter what you do you can't change the flow of the battle"
"I just set the difficulty to casual and go on for the story"

No, I do not think the gameplay sucks. Turn based/real time strategy just isn't my thing. However, unlike you I am fully capable of playing the game properly, and I did that the first couple of times I played through the game. NOW I just set it to casual and coast through because the story is brilliant.

And the no weight behind the strikes was because I had just played dragon age 2, which has action-rpg combat and the controller rumbles when you strike an enemy.

  18. Fair enough, you rock, I suck.

Though it might be a good idea go give some more informations about a game other than the title.

My brother has Dragon Age for the Xbox so I'll probably just try it out the next time I go home~

I'm still pretty early in the game (just starting the thieves guild quests), so hopefully it gets better. I'm playing as an Imperial thief/assassin type, since that's what I was in Oblivion. I'm playing casually so no specific build in particular.

  20. Dragon age is great
    Alistair is my husbando
    Morrigan is my BFF
There's no stupid mundane bar that shows your moral alignment, you just make the choices you want to
Much more varied dialogue choices than the mass effect dialogue wheel
    5x larger than mass effect
can talk to your party members at any time, have to actually build relationships with them to get them to like you
your choices actually greatly affect the outcome of the game
the world is rich and developed
