Lol oh texas, when will they stop being the retarded shithole of america :P
but i actually don't care, i'm all for the retardation of american citizens.
Thomas Jefferson and his whole leeeberal idea in the constitution of seperation of church and state...uhh lets just ignore it. lets just erase America's 3rd president and ignore and propagandize certain parts of America's Declaration
You Know because we have to balance out the truth of history because it too liberal
with made up or failed conservative leader who have no importance with current history.
see how balanced that is? balancing history to increase the majority of stupid people.
But at least this thread, Helps Gantz Admit that he hates America and The Declaration of Independence.

Umm...
Cynthia Dunbar, a lawyer from Richmond who is a strict constitutionalist and thinks the nation was founded on Christian beliefs, managed to cut Thomas Jefferson from a list of figures whose writings inspired revolutions in the late 18th century and 19th century, replacing him with St. Thomas Aquinas, John Calvin and William Blackstone. (Jefferson is not well liked among conservatives on the board because he coined the term “separation between church and state.”)
You should check out her website. If you think she's a secular-progressive faggot, I happen to be the president of the Bank of Lagos in Nigeria, and I wish to speak to you most urgently regarding a sum total of $47 million...
But I've also relegated (promoted?) you to Neanderthal troll status for quite some time, so that could be it as well.
I have nothing to say but that I'm dissapointed with America... yet again...
Yes we know Gantz is trolling :P
Even though he supports it, he has said he was against the religious right on the forums earlier, so i willing to believe him.
but that doesnt matter cuz i do want to talk about it.
Propaganda to the Max :p
and i'm generally interested in how long a corporate empire can survive or if its an effective new system to control "advanced" society.
My mind got blown by the article, I'm still recovering.
It's time for nationally standardized textbooks.
Thomas Jefferson would've been the darling of the south hadn't it been for the whole religion thing. He wasn't an atheist, and was actually very interested in things like theology, but he thought the New Testament to be a corrupted version of Jesus' original message and was mistrustful of Calvinism (predestination is a bitch, I would say), which was popularly accepted at the time.
The Jefferson Bible is a very interesting read if you're into things like that.
"In economics, the revisions add Milton Friedman and Friedrich von Hayek, two champions of free-market economic theory, among the usual list of economists to be studied, like Adam Smith, Karl Marx and John Maynard Keynes."
^^
I can't say that I dislike that proposal. The rest of it's shit though.
“We are adding balance,” said Dr. Don McLeroy, the leader of the conservative faction on the board, after the vote. “History has already been skewed. Academia is skewed too far to the left.”
History doesn't need to be balanced, it needs to be portrayed truthfully even if it ends up leaning farther on one side than the other.

Fucking cunt. Who the hell does she think she is? If Thomas Jefferson's writings inspired revolutions then he should be credited alongside everyone else who did the same and she should have no right to take that credit away from him just because she doesn't like him.
She does and she did though :\
The Establishment Clause has a very specific purpose, which is as its name suggests, to prevent the ESTABLISHMENT of an official State Church. This means, the government can not establish Mormonism, or Methodism, or Presbyterianism, or Catholicism, or Islam, or Judaism or Buddhism any other specific religion as the offcial state religion, it does not mean religion must be expunged for all facets of government. That is a 20th Century Communist/Progressive/Hippie notion and comes from a private letter from Jefferson, a man who had nothing to do whatsoever with writing the Constitution, not from anything written in the Establishment Clause.
Great a wonderful dumbass move(and I'm in the state that did it) If Perry was involved with this shit Im gonna be so pissed -___-
The Establishment Clause has to be viewed in the light of the English Civil War and the long history of conflict between the Crown and the Vatican. The Establishment Clause was meant to do one thing, prevent the State (Fed) from mandating EVERYONE in EVERY state must belong to a particular religion to be a law abiding citizen. For 50 years after the Ratification, individual states had official religions so obviously the Founders did not view it as unConstitutional or they would have forced them to remove them immediately. It was only until Hugo Black's activist court in 1947 created "separation of Church and State" out of thin air did it enter precedence and in addition before the Everson decision it was NEVER applied to the states, only the Federal Government. So Black's court in Everson did two things, he created "separation of Church and State" where it never existed, and he extended it two the state level where it was never before ruled to apply.
That is a fact, and you Commie Atheists can not dispute it.
I am sorry some may not like what the Constitution says, tough shit. The Establishment Clause says very clearly what its purpose is, there is no ambiguity, and it does not say what the current Separation of Church and State doctrine wants, that was created by Hugo Black.
Further, Jefferson had nothing to do with writing the Constitution, he was Minister to France at the time. It WAS created out of thin are in the sense that there was absolutely no precedence for Black's ruling, on the contrary the precendence for 150 years was that the Establishment Clause did NOT apply to states, only to the Fed since its whole purpose was to prevent the Fed from forcing a national State religion on us.
Well, Jefferson and Franklin were more or less against organized religion (which is why Jefferson believed in the separation of church and state and why even Quakers thought Franklin was a Quaker), unless you happen to have a different list of Founding Fathers.
o.O I have no clue if GTR is supporting or Against this.
You just stated more or less facts
not sure what "commie atheists" have to do any of that?
and what the hell does the constitution have to do with any of this?
to set a precedent is to take a good idea and turn it into law. You say Out of thin air like it's a bad thing. where else do ideas come from.
I want some of your shrooms GTR!! Gimme!!
"Thomas Jefferson cut out of Texas textbooks"
Thread title is overly sensationalist. It's a several minute read before one gets to the end of the article to find that Jefferson is ditched in favour of other choices for a category that is not needing of THIS much sensationalism.
Everyone already knows the US south believes in that fucked in the head belief that some imaginary non existent being invented reality on a whim.
Jefferson only wished to keep this idiocy separated from government.
