In my opinion, for a doujin project I was quite content with their result.
The Background was gorgeous and the OP and ED were great, but the BGM were somewhat missing.
About the character design, I can't complain. It was already stated that they would look more 'ZUN'-ish which isn't a bad thing and besides am I one of those people who don't criticize about animation much, but I was surprised about some characters and how they were presented, maybe it's just me. Too many doujins?

I'm curious how the plot will develop, as we weren't given a number of how many episodes they would do. Depending on the number and length they could add more depth into the story, but managing charater development at the same time proves to be quite difficult and it's not like they were short of them.
It's unlikely they will animate the whole Touhou cast and I don't expect them to do either. I'd be content if they could introduce Flandre, since she was mentioned it's possible she will be, and Youmu.Well, I won't expect a phenomenal conclusion plot-wise etc., it's a doujin project after all. My inner fanboy would be already happy if the anime continuous about the same level, but it would be great if they do manage it after all.
Looking forward to the next episode.

I agree with Monpocchi in that the anime is quite satisfying and has potential. I somehow feel that Marisa is kinda out of character though. Isn't she the genki-carefree one, and Reimu the lazy-cynical one? It's like they almost switched their persona...

Non-touhou fans here.
The seiyuu cast was a big surprise and at the same time over-shadowed other aspects of the works. This may make someone try to compare it with official animation quality, which it is not.In fact, the animation part is a bit odd. If it's doujin work, there is really no need to do some ZUN-ish style unless they want to make it Official. Of course, this is impossible unless they obtained permission from ZUN.
Script is alright. Background arts and music are good. Can't complaint as it's doujin works with very limited staff. But I think most'd agree there are rooms for improvement.
I've seen TH fans with minor frictions about the character settings, some quarrels with potential copyright matters if it got too popular, but most of them welcomed the show as they have been waited for years ever since the promo. That's why someone rumored that the next episode would be aired after another 4 years lol

I watched it and was not content at all for some reason. I cant tell what it is but it seems to be lacking something that the creators tried to make it up with the spell cards.

It was a decent effort by the makers, fairly good quality for a doujin. Great backgrounds, and the voices are similar to what I imagined they would sound. Scripting and animation needed a bit of work (a character had 6 fingers during one scene), but overall good.
