had that cans for only 2 months and I don't miss it at all since I went high-quality IEMs 3 yrs ago... the low end (bass) in that thing doesn't extend real down low at all and the leatherette cushions will make your ears hot & sweaty.

AKG K272 HDs, but basically the same as the K271s. The mid range is what I like as well as the treble and these perform that range perfectly. A soft bass can always be fixed with an amp. The padding seems to be some sort of suede or velvet. Haven't worn them for extended periods yet so I can't comment on the temperature but their light-weight construction is remarkable.

The saving grace for k271 to me is:
(...compared to the Sony 7506 that I also disposed years ago)- TIGHT bass... so no slop to be heard in the low end
- soundstage
- midrange
- efficient... didn't need amping at all and should sound real clean on most laptops (these days) with Realtek HighDefinition Audio output.
- ergonomics... this is the only brand i'll come back to if i have to wear a full sized headphone, but now that i own a UE Triple fi 10 IEM (bought 3 Turkey Day events ago at waaay below MSRP) I've yet to look back.Posted 12 months ago # -
