I suppose that most of the members here knows, especially because for this article, that the Anime "Touhou - 夢想夏郷 (A Summer Day's Dream)" produced by MAIKAZE got recently it's release at the Comiket 75 Event. According to the statement of a member from "AnimeSuki", an attandee of the Event, the DVD's were (un)surprisingly sold out pretty soon because of the fame and reputation Touhou has been experiencing.
For the anime itself, it runs about 20:00~21:00 minutes. People who haven't mastered the japanese language yet but want to understand the plot, fear not.
The DVD comes with english subtitles, selectable in the menu (thank you, MAIKAZE).
At the end of the anime awaits you an (un)expected announcement, so go and see for yourself!
To the people and especially the fans who were able to buy a copy or aquired it otherwise, what is your opinion about the anime?
Did it meet your expectation, was the outcome pleasant, could it has been done better or could you go without it?
In my opinion, for a doujin project I was quite content with their result.
The Background was gorgeous and the OP and ED were great, but the BGM were somewhat missing.
About the character design, I can't complain. It was already stated that they would look more 'ZUN'-ish which isn't a bad thing and besides am I one of those people who don't criticize about animation much, but I was surprised about some characters and how they were presented, maybe it's just me. Too many doujins?
I'll leave the plot aside for now.
Instead, here some screenshots to make up:
Hope it was as spoiler-free as possible.
