Concern for anime characters in hentai doujin

First off, I must admit that I’m an avid hentai doujinshi reader. I usually read original stories(i.e. original characters, setting, plot, etc.) but I read some based on existing anime sometimes. Well the other day, I read some hentai about a certain magical girl series. I wonder why I haven’t read hentai for this series already? Anyway, I really like the heroines from this series, they’re some of my favorite characters in anime. Well, the subject of the hentai was rape, unwanted sex, tentacle, etc. When I started reading it, I felt a little depressed. I couldn’t enjoy it at all. After I finished(I pretty much skimmed the rest of the doujin), I deleted the folder right away. I’ve read plenty of rape and unwanted sex doujin with original characters and had no problem with it, but when it was happening to characters I really liked, I couldn’t stomach it. I felt sad for the characters. Perhaps a bit of favoritism on my part? Well, you can be sure that I’ll be avoiding that genre for awhile. I’ll stick with some more of the softcore consensual sex for now. Anyway, has this ever happened to any of you? Felt bad for an anime character you really liked while she was being f***ed 3 ways by a group of guys?

(I think I’ve become too attached to the characters. That probably isn’t very healthy. Next thing you know, I’ll be trying to marry them.)

Rape is a cornerstone of the otaku ero world, I couldn't make do without it.

I lost any sort of feelings of remorse years ago, so I'm pretty far gone!

Of course, I would go berserk if some of the things that often happen in doujins happened in the original work, but doujins I view as being a totally separate reality...

I know how you feel though; probably partly because it was late at night and my head was thus not quite screwed on straight, when I read the Neko Neko Rank E I was really sad from it. It was so depressing.

Depends. I remember that some characters are considered too pure to be humiliated, like the time when Tony Taka did not want to draw Nagisa in a provocative manner in his Clannad doujin because he respected her character in the novel.
For me it's like what Quen said, you can't really have a sex doujin nowadays without tentacle raep or sex

Nope, I never had that feeling when I read H-doujin. I think I already got over that "stage" where you hate to see your favorite character getting tortured and stuff, and at times the raep seems kinda cute. ^_^

Hmm, tbh i also USED to be like that. Everytime i saw my favourite characters in any doujins i would go like "Oh no, poor girl. How dare they do her like this..!?" Months later, when i was totally into and pretty addicted to ero mangas and doujins, i found it to be something positive for them (my favourite characters), indicating the level of their popularity and how ppl really love that certain character. Other than that, I'm totally fine with fanmade extreme Raep CGs of my fav girls, but if it's a doujin or something that has specific storylines, i usually wouldn't like it.. I like normal soft and happy ero doujins, as long as they don't contain ugly raeps and sexual humiliations.

Linkin was referring to Tony's liner notes in the latest Clannad doujin, Botan Nabe, that I translated a while back. Here's one of the pages:

He said he didn't want to defile his favorite, Kotomi, nor put Nagisa and Fuuko into any ero scenes, so he went with Tomoyo for this one.

Ishikei (NiseMIDI) said something similar when he did his few pages of Fuuko ero artwork, if I remember right. ^_^

That's quite a shame; i don't mind Nagisa but i like loli Fuuko and meek oppai Kotomi (and yea, i'm a perv X3, that Kotomi panchira sit pic is good enough for me,though).. Well, he just don't like to spoil the original personality of certain characters (though i wouldn't mind that actually) so that's the reason why he seemed not really into doing doujins thus prefer to "spoil" his own OCs or the girls from eroge and videogames he worked with. Gotta respect him with his attitude..

Though, wasn't Clannad originally an Eroge? It's pretty normal to see all of the girls, except for underrated Librarian girl, to engaged with ero scenes..

Lesson Of The Day; never expect Tony to ero-dize a loveable character that can possibly be his favourites.
