When it comes to protecting your hard drive though, you know how everything you save to your HDD leaves a physical footprint on it? When necessary, the police can actually examine the physical shape of your hard drive to recover files that were on it but have since been erased. In case it's that kind of thing your parents are afraid of, I know there's software that writes rubbish over the parts where deleted files used to be (the army uses such software), but I don't really know where to get it or anything. Perhaps someone else here uses it?

I actually have on of these programs I think, it came pre-installed on my new comp, I can check for the name once the power is back if you want.

I don't use it, but you only have to overwrite those physical blocks of memory with junk or other files.

Move lots of files between drives, deleting and copying them across HDD's, and defrag. Program's definitely simpler, though.

Just open up the file, and write over it with all 0's or something, then close it and delete it.

I've never bothered with this myself, though. My dad's a doctor, and he gets me to physically deal with old HDD's by smashing, sanding down, and burning the discs inside. Purely for fun, and it's quite a lot of fun just randomly destroying electronics.

So here is the request my parents want to find a program that destroys your internet history...

Tell them to use "Private Browsing" Firefox or Explorer - tell them it wont's save there data so they don't need a special program - that should theoretically do it, I hope :) I guess they have no idea about computers and Internet so maybe they'll get the bait...

    As pyre said tell us

Okay now for my request and please avoid head damage since this is based on my parents ill knowledge of the internet. Also this is a request just with background info.

Okay so my parents aparrently read an article a few days ago about a guy who got aressted by random link data and so on. Apparently my parents had no idea that web adresses/links could possibly lead to material getting on your computer you don't want(que facepalm shields). So now their up in arms over governments gonna check ma computer.

So here is the request my parents want to find a program that destroys your internet history and any "random data" to protect themselves and me(please i already knew about this and i bet things like cc and spybot would do it) Anyways so if i could get some help on this and please no picard facepalming.

You can use some clean wipe program to delete the files and replacing it with random words on the harddisk. But the easier way is to clean up all the data first, then make a textpad file filled with abcde repeated until 100KB and save the file. Copy it into a new folder several times until it make your PC harddisk full then delete the folder. All empty data in the harddisk will be replaced with the deleted abcde files. Nothing left to be recovered.

I've seen the show, i know i have...but it just escapes me what one it is (I've seen so many anime recently that i forget alot of the others till i see a name, plus my memory is absolutely atrocious when it comes to stuff i'm not currently focused on).

Can i just have the answer please?

This might be a bit of an unusual request, but

My mother was watching some variety show on tv, and they showed a tiny segment of a Japanese sport or art. Being the western douches that they are, they didn't mention the name of this practice, but it looked very impressive and I'd like to see/learn more of it. Here's what it looked like:

There were two groups of men, clad in black uniforms. Both groups made a diamond formation. Now imagine a vertical and a horizontal axis on the floor that strike eachother right in the middle. One group was standing on the right end of the horizontal imaginary axis, and the other was standing on the bottom end of the vertical axis. They waited for a signal, then started walking at exactly the right speed, with exactly the right space between steps in order to pass to the other side of the axis, without bumping into eachother despite being packed very close together. It took extreme discipline and trust. They then did the same walking backwards, and another while running.

Does anyone know what this sport/art is called?

  14. A request, I have... Well, more a question, actually.

In SanChan's "My Profile" page, how does one go about setting "Tag Subscriptions" to display thumbnails at the bottom (of the page)?

Some example users' pages which work (asianprostitute1500, disguised monkey, Nachtmahr) and some which don't (msgundam2, syndicaterx, Shinto).

    Arigatou.
