    Oh my.
I had to go to dig up my tutorial stuffs folder to look if I have something useful.

Learning a new software is always tiresome.
SAI is a sweet little puppy that has less functions (but really light & much friendlier) than Photoshop. So it has many tools & functions that are the same as PS (such as Blend mode, textures, Opacity lock, pen with textures etc.); means even if you found PS paint tutorials, they might be useful too (since many painting tutorials are in PS).

Since I learned Photoshop first, I didn't really have to learn anything when I use SAI... So I'm pretty useless in this for giving suggestions.

I did look for SAI tutorials a while ago though, but I don't know if you have already saw this (colections of links) or it's already too basic for you:

Thanks a ton for your replies, both! I'm looking forward to checking out the links you posted when I get home tonight. If you say Photoshop tutorials are largely applicable to SAI, then I'd love to look at some of your favourite Photoshop tutorials as well, if you happen to have some.

When it comes to technique - like shading or lineart etc - most Photoshop tutorials are applicable to SAI because the core features of the two software are the same or similar ( you can set layers to multiply, screen, overlay...etc; you can blend colors with the blur tool...etc )

Meanwhile found another SAI brush setting tutorial:
    http://isihock.deviantart.com/art/Brushes-type-for-Paint-tool-SAI-2-437459479

A part of it shows how blending in SAI works:

How to create custom brushes ( technically the elemaps for them ) in SAI:

    Soft shading in SAI:

This is for everyone, "character design references" is basically a dedicated Pinterest account gathering a bunch of inspiration and resources:

There are also anthropomorphic animals included and well a bunch of other stuff relating to character design.

In other news...THERE'S A PAINT TOOL SAI 2 AND I JUST GOT WIND OF IT ._. So anyone has links to a translated or "free" full version?

The tutorials I saved are anime-ish, or can't be done in SAI completely, or if it's painting it's just about landscape or realistic looking foods...

I mostly don't want to make you confuse, presenting you the PS-only functions mixing with the ones you can do in SAI in a way or another, if you're just starting to use SAI.
Anyway, these are some in my saved folder (yes, there are PS-only functions in some parts):

There is the official English one that you can try out for 31 days. It was out just last month, so... No rush.
I personally think I don't really need anything more than the first version anyway.

I like the interface more :o
For me it weighs in a lot whether the interface is appealing or not; for example AICS6 eats a little more memory than AICS5 but I still prefer it due to its redesigned user interface. My first thought when opening CS6 was "Damn, Illustrator be sexy now" and I'm not even kidding :o

Anyways, already found the new version yesterday but for now I will stick to SAI 1.0 'cause I'm too used to my settings.
That being said, finally I solved my issue with the double screen so YOOHOO.

  7. So...Did I fix it or made it worse?
( brown sketch is the fix )
I suck at drawing running motion and technically I should've chosen an easier pose BUT this character is "The Merry Thief" so she should reflect a sort of bold, "fuck you" mentality...

    Thanks!
Do you have any ideas how to fix up the movement more or is this pretty much what I can achieve with this pose? I feel like it's still somewhat stiff although it might be due to the pose and the missing background...

  10. what if you put the leg back down, right now it sorta looks like she would land on her back, as if preparing for a high jump

I really wanted to write "go fuck yourself" as a reply because that's how I feel about your comment but I rather keep it calm and simply advise you to visit the channel for large breasts.

    Whatever, people.
If no one else wants to give me a serious feedback then just forget I asked. I'm going to figure out things by myself, as usual.

Forgive her. She's bipolar. (You should try talking to her about the nazis or about communism. Boy, she'll go bananas.)

    Where's the pretend tho'

Her pose is fucked up, she's not in movement and Koeru even said she looks like she's falling backwards...I didn't know there's a minimum number and quality of fuck ups that my art has to display before becoming desperate enough to ask for help :o

Frankly everyone's art is better than mine since you people actually finish shit...

    There, fixed it for yah.
    At least be accurate, Nin.
Nazis and communists are just a group of dumb and intellectual morons.
Lolicons and pedophiles are...[censored in the interest of the thread].

If I'm not addressing you directly you shouldn't take my words on yourself. I'm pretty sure I've already said thank you and showed interest in your words - I wanted to write a reply to your second comment but other things occupied my attention and forgot. I tried putting her leg farther behind before asking here for help but it didn't look good at all. Thanks for the suggestion.

Btw, I phrased my sentence "if no one else" to refer to you :o I would've written "no one" if didn't consider your input valuable.

  19. Gee, golly! Look at the long list of pages!

Anyway, I'm new here and I am indeed an 'artist' as I've actually done concepts for fictional characters I've created for my own work. I used to make my own little tributes to other work not made by me (i.e.; Sonic, Inuyasha), but overtime I just felt like I'd be better breaking the mold with my own original content instead of taking the typical route like most people. My style is quite complex and could be very subjective for some people (which I'm okay with).

Furthermore, drawing on paper is now the least favorite because I've found more strength using a computer doing the impossible animation that was later useful for my (TBA unreleased) Anime.

Now, I wonder if anyone will actually read this. :O
