The top half of her body is incredible, but from her navel down it seems off. Her pelvis is squashed vertically, and legs... don't work that way. It's a really difficult pose and angle, so it's hard to say how to correct it, but I tried finding similar references so you might be able to see for yourself.

That's what I was thinking when I first saw it. The hands might be over-perspectified, as well, while the legs don't have quite enough perspective to keep things proportioned right.

I'm going to consult my library of poses (old drawing / sketch reference books) and see if I can't find something that fits...

  2. I failed. I was only able to find this page. Nothing else came close enough. Dunno how much help that is.

I should study my references more. There's actually good stuff in there, as I keep forgetting.

  4. Thanks for the feedback and references, they're quite helpful. I think there are a few small things I can change before I ink it to make it a bit more bearable. ^^

  7. That turned out well. I didn't have time to critique when you posted the sketch, so there's not much point now, but her arms are too short; the elbows should reach closer to her navel. The hands are just weirdly constructed in general; they're kind of squished horizontally, and they're a bit small. Her thumbs are coming more out of the centers of her palms than the sides, and while it's possible to position your fingers the way she has them, it's not very comfortable; try it yourself.

Obviously the person in the background isn't the point of the image, but if you're going to include an element, you shouldn't rush it or it will distract from the focus. The lighting is odd, too: Asuka and the background person are lit from the top, the building is lit from the top-left, and the hand holding the phone is lit from the... top-right and near the viewer? Finally, Asuka is either floating, standing on something, or has incredibly long legs, because she doesn't fit with the horizon line.

I know that's a lot, but I like it more than I dislike it. I can forgive some of the minor mistakes.

  8. I always seem to have that problem with the horizon line. I can do perspective just fine when it comes to objects like buildings but for some reason I can't seem to add humans to it properly >.>

  9. looks like i might have to join pixv sooner than i wanted.
deviantART is being a bitch and has deleted two of my drawings.

    These two, to be exact.

  11. the only thing I can think of is that it violated their "sexualized minors" rule. I'm not sure because the notice didn't even tell me any information. I sent a message to their help desk, but I still haven't gotten a reply.

If it is because they're minors, then there's a ton of people on deviant art that are going to have their stuff deleted.

  12. DeviantArt moderation is more ass-backwards than 4chan. Don't try to rationalize, question, or predict it.

  13. Today I found this:
    http://salt-vinegar.tumblr.com/post/25743351043/a-practice-speed-paint-i-was-to-fed-up-with-my

I'm pretty sure y'all already know I made that picture and all. I was wondering if the owner of this tumblr is someone from Sancom? I'm mostly curious, seeing as otherwise, they wouldn't have found the lineart they supposedly got from this other user they name (But the username directs to a blank page).

So, anybody know any of this?

This is the original picture I uploaded the 12th June.

  16. This is pretty frustrating as I never though about watermarking my art. I mean, pleeze. Anyhow, I didn't upload the lineart on other sites than my FB and SanCom so I thought that it might have been someone from here too.

Blerrgh, this is pretty irritating. >:U

Well look at that, Crackrabbit is clearly involved. I'll PM her.

She probably hosted it on her tumblr.

    I doubt that.

    Anyway, I wrote to her:

    Hey!
I was just wondering where you got the lineart for the vampire painting (The post begins with: "A practice speed paint. I was to fed up with my stuff so I used..."). I'm wondering because I made that picture (if you go to my DA - AntikaVelvet - you'll find it there) and I'd like to know who is giving my art as their own. I know where I've uploaded the lineart so I'd like to find out who the person is, I appreciate your help.
    /Antika

    And she responded:

Well I found it on sankakucomplex, and I credited it as you. I just used your tumblr url to credit, because it seemed more appropriate.( I didn’t know your da url at that moment) Also I’m sure that I send you two asks with explanations where I found it to your tumbrl, when I submitted it here. ( If you didn’t receive them, I am terribly sorry about that, most likely something went wrong with my net)

And I know that you made that beautiful lineart. ( BTW your improvement is quite impressive.)

I am sorry about trouble that this has caused to you. If you wish I can take it down at moments notice.

    Have a nice day!

So it looks like she/he only had the wrong tumblr and all.

All ends well then. But this only leads to me starting to put a watermark on all my damn pictures.

For an erotic image the first word that came to my mind was "charming". I prefer the image censored, maybe because it leaves more to the imagination. idk, but I love the piece.
