Well personally I use lots of layers, and I never fully erase anything. If I don't like it, I make it transparent or put another layer over it. As a final touch, I'll often put in extra shading at the end by putting a transparent layer over the area I need to murk up. (I did that to those gills up there, and that's why the colors have blended together the way they have.)
It's not the best technique out there, but... ~whatevs!
Oh well that's what I do too. Laaayers and laaaayeers. Not only for coloring. But ANYTHING really. It's beautiful to be able to work like that.
I sketched some ink lines during my course today.
Nothing exciting but I haven't been in here for a while!
And what is that?

@Jaku: TEACH ME COLORING, WTF that looks amazing :(Ah, some of it became like that with the bakground. I was too lazy to find out way. Without it, it looks like this:
That looks so much nicer~

And now I'm doing this... Can you guys guess who they are?
You and your sister?

i hope so, that sounds hot!
... Close enough. The one to the left is Antika and the one to the right is Miss Jessica Rabbit.
Jessica Rabbit is pretty much the reason why Antika exist. So it's more like "mother-daughter" incest. Lol.
Tried fixing the bewbs. Not working.
Also, let me remind you that I use picture reference for most of my drawings. Meaning that creds for the poses go to the different models I use.

References? Blasphemy! Don't you know that all art ever made must be totally original with no inspiration of any kind from any sources external to the artist? In fact, it's best if the artist is totally blind from birth, so he / she can't subconsciously copy a pose from memory.

ha, exactly. that's like a photographer having to thank and architect for a building that's in a photo.
Guess I didn't explain that correct. Right now I'm using the photos and drawing over them the things I want, then doing the rest. Which is slightly less respectable than simply getting inspiration from something lol But I'm still learning and this is the easiest way.
Here's the picture I used:
Nothing wrong with that, either. You should have seen all the photos I traced of rats trying to learn their screwball anatomy.

i think i'm done with it. i managed to not spend an obscene amount of time on the ships.
Not bad. The shading on the panties is good.
Oh hey, sato's here. He should stay here for the next few days...

~Innit' just though? he he
I suppose my only other "trick" is to use subtle brushes? I'm using sai's watercolor brush 90% of the time. It's got a delightful way of smooshing colors around the canvas. If you're delicate with it you can do a lot of very interesting things.
(Though of course, not every tool is for every artist.)

Darn. He got me all figured out!
Well I don't exact know much about brushes so maybe that's what I should start reading up on.
