  1. I read the "Fun with a pencil" book previously recommended in here, and I must say that it was a complete waste of time, at least for me.

The entire premise of the book goes like:

    1. Draw a circle
    2. Draw another circle
    3. Have fun!
    4. Pro level drawing complete

To put it into perspective, let me give you an excerpt of my next book "have fun writing a multithreaded, highly scalable and secure online game server", in the style of "have fun with a pencil".

    1. Create an empty text file
    2. Write "int main() { }"
    3. Have fun!
    4. Done! Your 100k line program is ready to launch!

The entire drawing process is obviously trivial to the author, who clearly has lots of years of experience under his belt. I am tempted to think he wrote his book as a way of bragging his l33t sk1llz, but I'd rather apply Hanlon's razor, and simply believe that he just sucks at explaining.

    Edit: w00t, post 10101!

    Is she an original character?

Yeah, but I know her outfit is ridiculously boring. I plan on doing something about that eventually. XD

Oh? I like her outfit TBH. It looks tomboyish, yet cute at the same time.

Though I don't have a good sense of fashion, so don't take my opinion on this seriously. If you want to give her a different outfit, then I wish you luck in coming up with something that you're satisfied with.

BTW I think all the art you've posted here has been really nice. Do you have a pixiv or DA account?

I'm sorry for the recommendation then. I assumed that you already know some of the knitty gritty basic stuff and reccomended "fun with a pencil".
It realy is a good book to learn 3d thinking from though.

    Well bear with me here.
    Try this book maid.

This is one of his books that is more detailed and focuses on drawing figures ;) enjoy.

  5. Thank you very much. I'll take some time to read it later.

At first look, it seems very academic, as it has lots of text, and little explanation on the actual drawings. That's probably a good thing, but will probably make it a little bit heavy to read.

It seems to discuss the same points of most of the anatomy books I have, but unlike the japanese books I have, this one also gives a lot of time and space to the male figure, and how it is different from the female figure.

Just to let you know: I do have books, and I do read them (even if I might seem like I don't). I have found that most books say pretty much the same things, so I'm not really thrilled about new books, unless they are either exceptionally good like "the illusion of life"; or are specialized, such as a book I have about drawing glasses, or another one I have about drawing hair, or another one I have about drawing interacting characters.

I still believe that getting better at anything is <5% reading books, <5% studying the work of others and >90% practice.

Once again, thank you very much for your interest in helping me.

  8. As is probably apparent by now, I have friggen long bus rides.

Regrettably, I will most likely not make more pages of this... I'd like to, but I have no idea where I'm going with it at all.

Sweet Santa shit... I've gotta stop eyeballing perspective!

  10. You can not do that to mouths. It's not allowed!

(Oh btw, you should double check the forehead & the collar bones. I don't want to nag, but there's something weird going on there.)
