I absolutely love Charlie Parker. Dizzy Gillepsie is a close second. The bebop genre of jazz is phenomenal.

I only recently start to listen to some of jazz music. At first it was a bit hard to digest jazz music, since most of em using wind instrument like sax and trumpet that produce kinda annoying buzzing sound.

Although i always think Oboe and Clarinet (maybe flute) produce the greatest sound for wind instruments. Those buzzing sound kinda grow in me, and the more i listen to it, the more i could enjoy jazz.

Have you tried jazz with guitars, such as Wes Montgomery or Grant Green?

You better never try free jazz like Albert Ayler or Sun Ra, many jazz fans have a hard tried listening to them, but I love them.

Not yet, recently just tried Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillspie, Paul Chambers and Thelonious Monk which mostly just piano and wind instruments, except Paul where the music use some string instrument like double bass and cello

  11. Well, I recommend them, since most of their music doesn't have much wind instruments which annoy you. Later in Montgomery's career he was playing basically easy listening jazz, so you might want to check them out first.

  13. While you're trying some new jazz, give fusion a go. I listen to a lot of jazz/hip hop fusion and lately, I've been doing a lot of jazz/swing/electro fusion. It's amazing stuff.

Parov Stelar has been the one playing the most lately for me:

    Another one to try:

    video

For all the stupid 10min intro and 30min keyboard solo jokes, they are not as obnoxious as what MTV and Rolling Stone magazine try to make them out to be.
In case someone doesn't know, the albums Fragile and Close To The Edge are great start points to listen to them.
