The DEA's outright war on learning chemistry and banning compounds such as elemental iodine just because they can be used to manufacture certain drugs.
I feel we're going to have an entire generation that will grow up to be absolute morons when it comes to science.
Also, you can just order most drugs in two halogenized parts, then you just join them with a simple elimination reaction. You can actually synthesize 80-90% of Schedule I drugs with basic knowledge of organic chemistry.

True the DEA does little to stop drugs they just cause more social problems then would have existed in the first place.
They don't call the war on drugs a trillion dollar failure for nothing.
Of course that is only the direct cost the secondary costs are much higher.
How else are the feds supposed to maintain their monopoly?
