So, my host mother suddenly asked me and another exchange student, or my exchange sibling if there is any better way to put it, this morning to do a favor requiring international students for a concert by the Self Defense Force. It involved wearing a kimono, going up on stage for a few minutes, present gifts to receivers, and exit. It was my first time wearing a men's kimono, but compared to men, the preparation needed for a female's kimono looked so damn strenuous as I noticed my sibling while the kimonos were being prepared on us. Also, walking in such outfits with the traditional footwear is a fucking pain.
I swear to god, if I was alone in this I would have panicked more over trying to make sure I understood directions correctly than I did today with my broken Japanese. I mean I understood the task and found it easy, but because I'm still slow on grammar, when I was getting the explanation I worried over whether or not I was comprehending things perfectly. Thankfully, my sibling was way more proficient than me allowing me to phase most of the spotlight on her instead.
