I did not learn any Okinawan. Every Okinawan I met either spoke Japanese or English. There also were young women in Okinawan traditional garb Ｏ(≧▽≦)Ｏ when I visited Shuri Castle
I toured the military base, my brother is stationed there. I also visited the underground naval headquarters
It's true that people will stair at you if you poke rice with your chopsticks, but they also stair at you because you are a foreigner in general.
