  4. Living in Australia is suffering especially when there's no air conditioning at the place you work.

  5. Considering how brutal the weather is. Where you are now. Just keep hydrated.

otherwise you would have said "No i dont want to chat about anime with anyone."

I think I know what he means? There was this girl in one of my classes last year who introduced herself as an otaku. Horrible move. She thought she would be special or something but ofc nobody gave a shit about her. I approached her and found out she only watched Naruto and Sakura Card Captors. Unfortunately this happened while we were on the tube way home and we ended up awkwardly standing in silence for 10 minutes.
Is that the "kind of guy" you meant, Artwork?

  7. Lately the contents of this thread make me pretty happy to have a M-F, regular office hours job.

Speaking of which, we're supposed to have an office party thing tomorrow at some bowling / arcade / food joint. Apparently the consumption of alcohol is assumed. This is why humans confuse me. If I'm having a drink I'm at home, not out with a bunch of random people where a bunch of weird crap can happen while I am less than optimally prepared to respond to it. How does anyone think that's a good idea? I don't know, I've never understood that. Never mind the fact that everyone has to drive home.

  8. Didn't sleep comfortably. Window was open right next to me, slept on a wooden surface padded with pillows. Felt too bloated from the ride over here to enjoy more booze. I can't seem to down liquor as well as I used to... It's just tastes too nasty now... :/

Then just go but don't drink. Or drink just a little.
Most people enjoy getting drunk exactly because weird shit can happen, a little excitement wouldn't kill you. Mind you, I don't think it's necessary to get drunk, but if you know your limits you can have a good time.

My mum is 56. She has never tried a cigarette in her life. I just made her vape some chocolate eliquid but she had no clue how to do it. I tried to guide her but she did it all wrong and coughed a lot, lol. I think it was the first time I though my mum looked kawaii.

You are a horrible influence on your mother.

  11. No, SHE is. She brought me tons of chocolate from her holidays and I'm going to turn into a pig.

  12. You could send those chocolates to me if you don't want to get fat :3

Maybe J2 stands for Jerk #2 which means there must be a Jerk #1.

Oh today is just a great day.

Well of course not. It's not like I'm concerned about it. I never consume alcohol in public and never with other people.

I can intentionally make plenty of interesting things happen without alcohol. And studies of the placebo effect on people who believe themselves to be consuming alcohol indicates that the bigger factor lies with the consumer's mindset, so it's really not necessary.

I am mostly just rhetorically curious as to what kind of mindset enables people to impair themselves while in a public setting. Are they really that trusting of a crowd of random strangers? Bizarre. It's like a squirrel sleeping on his back in a hyena preserve.

It's more that being sober in such situations is either horrifying or boring. Alcohol removes the anxiety and/or inhibition that prevents lots of people (not you) from having fun.

Of course, there are lots of other intoxicants that do this job just as well or better.

Well, for me, it would be the boring option, unless there is some kind of actual organized event taking place.

But if it's so bad, why not just go do something you actually want to do instead?

Pure nicotine may actually be beneficial. It seems to improve attention, memory and reaction times, amongst other things:

This is when you ask other coworkers if they want some of your hours instead.

    YES THIS ^
I have had plenty of situations like that from people claiming that they are otaku/major Anime watchers to claiming that they are major 'geek' gamers when they have only played cod or battlefield etc. ( for those misogynists- yes some of the claimants were males)

It's always disappointing when you think that you have a lot in common
