Your Day Thread 9: Being Sankaku is Suffering

If we were to talk about a story that leads up to a goal, it would work and I would already have a title but the individual pages ( chapters? ) link to each other through the characters and not through the plot. I planned arcs but there's no main plot line..

If this were a Japanese comic I would name it "Bento" written as "ベンと" to play a pun on the word "bento" in reference to the school life theme but the title would mean "Ben&" to refer to the main character and his friends.

HOWEVER it's a Western comic with mainly Western characters so I can't justify that title with anything ._.

"Wasting Pixels" fits a more personal, self-expressing series; "Filling the Blank" sounds like an art project rather than a comic; at this rate I'm going to call it "Chopstick Pixels" 'cause my characters' have chopstick proportions..

Where was that rule when the butthurt teachers graded our German proficiency tests...Their problem wasn't that we wrote bad answers but that we didn't write the right answers on their correction sheet. I got like 80 something points out of 100 'cause of the strict ruling ._.

If it's a Western comic, please don't name it something Japanese.

Secondly, if there's no real theme to it then just go wild with it. Or call it just something random, like "Chairs."

This would also be grammatically correct if you replaced the comma with a semicolon.

Who said I want to give it a Japanese title? I specifically stated that I cannot do so since it's a Western comic...

It HAS a theme just not a main story line that connects the separate "chapters". It has many themes. But none would do interesting titles. The random thing is also more fit for comics that are totally random while this won't be.

Thanks for trying to help me out nonetheless.

    It's okay, Ichi.
In general I agree with Peter on this point.
But I wasn't planning on giving it a Japanese name so his "request" was unnecessary. I just pointed out, that if the comic had a Japanese setting, I would name it "Bento" :)
    I'm still clueless though...

He asked for help with the title. Try to pay attention.

Is there a word for the opposite of "Mary Sue", where the author creates an unfortunate character who's based on everything they hate about themselves as a form of catharsis?

If so, and if it's that comic from the artists thread, you should call your comic that.

List the themes out to start from there and see what other ways they can be said or words that fit said themes.

I think you assume I haven't tried the most obvious ways to find a fitting title. Anyways, forget it. I asked you people 'cause I was hoping you could point out something I haven't thought of already but it seems that won't happen. Oh well.

Could you list them so we'll know what the themes are and be of more help with trying to think of names? It's hard to help when there isn't much to work off other than a couple of broheims hanging out in school.
