Exhentai works fine for me? Are you talking about them taking down exhentai potentially in the future?

They're only removing h-manga published by Wani. Its not even totally removed, just less accessible to most users. Everything else is still up.

    DMCA-ed artists

Still a large portion, and the danger that this opens the floodgates.

  8. The Chinese company Baidu is working on a self driving car.
Unlike Google's car where you have no control Baidu's car is to be more like a horse and you can take manual control any time.

For once it seems the Chinese improved on something vs outright copy it.

Though actually it somewhat resembles how the GM self driving car concepts of the early to mid 90s worked.

  9. A tree planted in a Los Angeles park in memory of Beatles legend George Harrison has been killed...by beetles.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2701753/Tree-dedicated-memory-George-Harrison-killed-BEETLES.html

Tree dedicated to the memory of George Harrison is killed by BEETLES

The pine tree in Los Angeles' Griffith Park fell victim to voracious bark beetles
Harrison was an avid gardener and spent his final years in Los Angeles
Harrison died at 58 in 2001 and the tree was planted as a sapling in 2004. It stood 10 feet tall before it was killed

A tree planted in a Los Angeles park in memory of Beatles legend George Harrison has been killed...by beetles.

The pine tree in Griffith Park was planted as a sapling in 2004, three years after Harrison's death at 58.

This weekend it was revealed that the tree has died after ten years due to a bark beetle infestation

Los Angeles Councilman Tom LaBonge said a new tree will be planted soon, according to the LA Times.

LaBonge says several trees at Griffith Park have been killed by the beetles.

The tree grew for ten years near the park's famous observatory and reached a height of 10 feet.

In front of it was a rock and plaque that bears the inscription 'The George Harrison Tree: In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardener.'

There is also a quote from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, a spiritual guru to the Beach Boys and Beatles among others:

'For the forest to be green, each tree must be green,' it reads.

  11. Jesus, they are still obsessed with \\"pirate sites\\"...

A lot of people who visit those sites actually buy the official, licensed and printed copies too however release is slower than the weekly update. Not to mention good 50% of available scanlations are not even licensed outside of East-Asia...So the money they supposedly lose in foreign markets is non-existent by nature.

Btw, I want to see Japan step up to China...The most the music industry managed to achieve was that outside China certain sites can't be accessed - they can be - and those sites pay some very minimal fee for copyright ( that they finance by charging Premium users for downloads ).

    Especially china

It's a losing battle just like the RIAA's war against piracy.

OWNER AND ACTRESS FROM SHEFIGHTS.NET SENT TO PRISON FOR BEATING UP MENTALLY ILL AND HOMELESS MEN

    The original story:

St. Petersburg, Florida - A St. Petersburg woman said she was sickened to hear that her former neighbor was arrested for allegedly abusing two disabled adults. Friday, St. Petersburg police arrested 59-year-old Jeffrey Williams. It all has to do with the website, Shefights.net.

"To take advantage of somebody like that. No, no. I think it's completely wrong," said former neighbor, Megan McConnell.

Last year, the website made headlines after a number of homeless men in the Bay Area claimed they were recruited and paid $50 to get beat up by women for the website. According to authorities, Williams recruited two mentally disabled men for the beatings and also filmed them.

Also arrested Friday was Zuzu Vargo , who investigators say was the one doing the beating.

"What is specific to these charges are the fact that these two particular men that were victimized are mentally disabled and consequently should not have been participating or recruited into an endeavor like this," said Mike Puetz.

Police say the beatdowns happened at Williams' home along 16th Street South, in the garage.

"I knew something was happening, because of all the sketchy people that were leaving. When his garage door was open there was wrestling mats and lights. Big construction light cameras," said McConnell.

Both Williams and Vargo are being charged with two counts of Aggravated Abuse of a Disabled Adult.

Same here they should not be allowed back in the country with the virus.
As there is very little one can do for someone with the ebola other then keep them hydrated and sedated so taking them into the country would do little to increase their chances of survival but would put a lot more people at risk.

  16. Seems the water in Toledo is not safe to drink due to a toxic algae bloom.
You can't even make it safe by boiling as that only kills the algae but doesn't destroy the microcystin it produces.
