COUPLE ARRESTED FOR SELLING GOLDEN TICKETS TO HEAVEN (GUESS FUCKING WHAT IT HAPPENED IN FLORIDA)
A Jacksonville couple has been arrested for selling what they claimed to be golden tickets to get into heaven as barstoolsports.com reports:
Tito and Amanda Watts were arrested over the weekend for selling “golden tickets to heaven” to hundreds of people. The couple, who sold the tickets on the street for $99.99 per ticket, told buyers the tickets were made from solid gold and each ticket reserved the buyer a spot in heaven — simply present the ticket at the pearly gates and you’re in.
Jacksonville police stated it is not illegal to sell golden tickets to heaven, but what the couple claimed where gold turned out to be pieces of wood spray painted gold. The couple was selling their product under false pretenses, which prompted their arrest.
Tito Watts had this to say about the arrest, from stuppid.com:
I don’t care what the police say. The tickets are solid gold… it ain’t cut up two by fours I spray painted gold. And it was Jesus who give them to me behind the KFC and said to sell them so I could get me some money to go to outer space. I met an alien named Stevie who said if I got the cash together he’d take me and my wife on his flying saucer to his planet that’s made entirely of crack cocaine.
When the couple was arrested they were found carrying thousands of dollars in cash as well as drug paraphernalia.

It shouldn't affect anybody, in my opinion. Japan's negative stance towards alien cultures is a great thing. They're fantastically conservative. It's to be expected many westerners don't have the behaviour that the Japanese expect of others. For those who wish to live in Japan, it should only make their will to deviate from the stereotype and assimilate into Japanese culture stronger. The tougher it is for foreigners to fight their way into a new culture, the better.

I hate when people assume selfishness to be bad.
Other than that, those kinds of surveys are stupid anyway. For two countries that are close allies, those views are rather ridiculous from both sides.

The article said that the average number of hours that an American works is longer, but this assumes that only logged hours are taken into consideration.
Japanese are notorious for doing "service overtime" meaning unpaid overtime that is "expected" or forced upon them. So the actual number of hours are much longer than the 1,735 stated in the article. None of these extra hours is documented to avoid legal problems and thus it appears that the average American works longer.
Furthermore, if you are an American employee in a Japanese company, unpaid overtime may also be expected of you, even if you are a part-time worker.
