I don't get the whole "she's fucked a lot of dudes" defence during rape cases.
I'm not referring to the more obvious and well-publicised criticisms of this line of reasoning. I'm bothered because it just doesn't make any sense. In fact, it's ass-backwards as fuck.
If she's fucked a lot of dudes, why would she accuse this one of rape and not the others? If she has low standards or already has a poor reputation, why would she bother making up some story to deal with the shame/regret? It makes no sense. Surely, if anyone is going to try and pull this shit, it's more likely to be the chick who actually has a reputation to defend. If I hear that the accuser is a well-known slut, I'm more inclined to believe her, if anything.
