   This will definitely affect me and some other members of this site who are working adults and are worrying about our jobs and our financial future.

   No, no, those of you who remain in the basement will be affected too, because when shit hits the fan, the government won't be able to pay benefits to support your fatasses. lol

   For the kids yet to go to prom night, you might graduate into a new world where your diplomas, degrees, and basically years of education become absolutely WORTHLESS because companies won't hire you.

   How prepared are you?

   NOTE: I noticed that doomsday talks are the trend going on in financial topics across the mainstream webs at the moment, but many of them are sourced from the 1% of the people; rich old men, many investors and bankers, who could have agendas of their own, and likely would come out smelling like roses even if the collapse becomes real.

   I find myself keeping my money off the bank since two months ago because of brooding paranoia that I won't be able to take them out when I need it most.

   Maybe not on a global or national scale, but there is real risk of local economical collapse. As more cities declare bankruptcy and our state government spends waste fully *bullettraintonowhere* while increasing taxes, something will break.

   Being in an earthquake zone, I already have emergency supplies that can last a week. And when the looting begins I will be prepared like based Koreans in the LA riots (prime example of SHTF).

   Yea that's why military spending was down 22% last quarter and federal spending another 15%. The contraction of the GDP was estimated at -.1%. Which will most likely be revised to a positive number later, just like the second and third quarter was revised higher.
   At least have enough basic macro economics data before posting. Economics is about data and proof not opinions.

   That's why I said that all that shit about doomsday were sourced from some former Fortune 500 company, or former banker, or some well-known investor. Granted, they work around money, so they should know what they're talking about, but being who they are, I have some skepticism towards them. Banks have too much power(Looking at you, Federal Reserve).

   Most people who talk about a financial collapse are not very knowledgeable about history.

   The present situation is nothing close to that in the 1930s.

   BTW if you want to know what a theoretical financial collapse would be like it already happened in the USSR so just ask a Russian.
   Complete crap but not the end of the world and also unlikely.
   But yes local shit hits the fan situations are likely at some point in your life.

   Though I too keep myself prepared in case of SHITF on a local scale.
   I keep some 7.62x54r and 7.62x39 and some 00 12 gauge on hand.

    I'm from Brazil, so there's plenty of food and water (stuff that actually matters). If a complete financial system breakdown happens (which it should, eventually, since it's a complete joke), we should be okay. We just won't have more ipads, iphones and other sort of technological crap.

    (or we'll be invaded by crazy military superpowers such as the US crazies, they're just as insane as the URSS used to be).

    Actually Russia is still kinda insane and China is not exactly all there either.
    BTW I do not trust the Chinese at all.
    Why are they having a military build up and spending money on weapons before fixing problems within their own boarders?

    China was chill, never invaded anyone, etc. Got invaded by Japan (several times), forced to buy Opium by the British (that's how HSBC was born), forced to play the capitalism game even though it was really late to the party and is now the first country to develop by "itself" (by exploiting financial loopholes, such as currency and copyright). South Korea and Japan both did the same, but they were buttbuddies with the USA, so it just makes sense.

    I do agree, though, nowadays Russia is probably one of the most insane countries in the world.

    If you don't believe the Free Tibet crowd and hate India, then no. However, it's amazing how China is becoming more capitalist then the US these days. As with Japan and South Korea, Japan was defeated senseless by the US and South Korea needs the US so the North won't have any funny thoughts. The only reason we still in east Asia is because of residual politics from WW2/Cold War.

    I don't see a Cold War 2.0 anytime soon. So Russia being insane, especially with Putin back is not a worry.
