   Sega has bought Relic (Dawn of War series, Company of Heroes series) for $26.6 mil.
   Koch Media has bought Volition (Saints Row series, Red Faction series) and the Metro series for $22.3 mil and $5.8 mil respectively
   Crytek has bought the rights to the Homefront series for $500k
   Take-Two has bought the rights to a project codenamed Evolve for $10.8 mil. Take-Two is also believed to have purchased the rights to the WWE license in discussions separate from the auction
   Ubisoft has bought THQ Montreal and the rights to South Park: The Stick of Truth for $2.5 mil and $3.2 mil respectively
   Vigil Games (Darksiders) went unsold

   As of yesterday, all THQ employees are out of work.

   Companies bought all the rights to their games (or the majority anyway) it's not like you're not going to see those games made anymore. It just might not be by the same people, and that's not always a bad thing.

   Also 3D Realms suffered this fate awhile back, so not A big surprise.

    The story is - 'the typical one' - for such companies, any company (really)...
    its only a matter of time, when things like this occurs, so its not surprising at all.

    Interesting how - 'Atari' - continued, after what occurred with it in the 1980's... and (again) currently with the situation that was - REPORTED - just a day ago.

    On a unrelated/related (sequence):

    All companies shown in the film - "Blade Runner" - are supposedly - (cursed) - since they advert'd on the film, ALL have gone the same route, - Bankruptcy - since they were shown in the film.

    Just an example of - 'what, can, and will' - happen under any circumstances and is just plain old business's doing what they have to do...
