What About Death and Funerals

  1. I've picked out my funeral song. Everything else is inconsequential.

  7. I've been thinking about this thread for a while. I still don't have a complete plan, but I got some ideas of what I'd like.

I hope I die before I lose my physical and mental independence and abilities. I don't see the point of being 80 years old if I'm gonna be in a wheelchair and shitting on diapers, unable to remember anything.

Hearing and vision impairments I'm ok with, by the time I'm getting deaf or blind we should have bionic eyes and ears so it'll be fine.

I don't plan on having kids so I'll leave everything I own and what little money I may have at the time of my death to Goodwill or The Salvation Army (I like their stores). My Anime Cels I'd like to donate to a museum, but if I die without finding one that'd take them they will too go to charity.

As for my funeral, I really dont want one, its a waste of money.

But, say I die this year, my dad will take my body back to Mexico and have a funeral there and bury me where my mom is buried (and where he wants to be buried).

I understand Gene Kelly was taken to a crematory straight from the hospital after he died, without ceremony or funeral (at his request). Whether that is true or not I'd like that. And have my ashes scattered at a mountain (fuck the beach, never cared to them whores).

And that's pretty much it I guess.

If I absolutely must have a funeral, I'd prefer an American over a Mexican funeral. One evening, get it done by 5PM, rather than a 48+hour event. And play these at my funeral:

All funeral I attended to had music, mostly classical music Vivaldi etc.

My funeral? I want it as pompous as possible, I also want to be embedded in a fancy shrine and the ones I left behind, have to worship me at least twice a day.
    For the songs

  11. One of the guys my dad used to fight fires with had the "I Love You" song from Barney play at the end of his funeral. When it started playing, everyone started crying (or cried harder if they were already crying). Now my dad wants it played a his funeral, as well.

No, I want them inside my coffin, and like I said, as pompous as possible. Ofc this includes strippers, live music and a big orgy at the end.

Really? I don't think I've ever been to a funeral without music. Maybe it's a Jewish thing.

I have. Usually a song or something that the person who died liked.

I liked Dr. Hunter S. Thompson's funeral concept.
If I go I want to to be something like that except load my remains in to a rocket and crash it into the moon.
