Strong Female Character Opinion

  1. What do you think of stronger female characters? Not just in terms of personality, but in general build, physicality, and ability. I'm talking about examples like Balsa (Moribito), Motoko (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), and Korra (Avatar: Legend of Korra). They are generally feminine but don't fit into the cute design so often portrayed in anime.

While the cute design is obviously favored in Japan, that doesn't say that other designs aren't desired or enjoyed in stories. In fact I rarely see any opinions on it so I was curious.

Do you find characters like this appealing or admirable? Why or why not?

I stopped following that thread because of the lack of intelligent answers. People jumped onto the "macho" cliche, but didn't actually give any serious reasons for or against finding these characters appealing. They then proceeded to name characters who went completely against the type of anime girl I'm asking about.

I always admire them~ :3 Even in real life.... It'll be different if they're just too bulky and too occupied with muscles though.

Well, after waiting a bit and reviewing recommended said thread in question...

I found - NO REASON - NOT TO - continue to follow that thread.

The answers given, were conducive, informative, and DID ADD to the topic at hand.
Yes, you had some deviation, but that's going to occur anyway, due to personal opinion, outlook, and you as a member should be - "used to it" - already.

So, lets continue the topic there once again, and I shall add a - "variation" - on the title and see if that will bring about more appropriate answers for you.

Hence, I shall use a - 'strong female character' - to render this..... a
