    It's definitely hard to play, plus you have to be in amazing shape and have very strong joints to play Pro.
    I don't watch it, but I do respect the athleticism required to play it well.

    Only sport I currently watch is the FIFA World Cup. Only sport I ever played and that I was good at was Golf & Chess (yes, not manly, but intellectual)

    This is a great sport.

    That fight was so gay I couldn't bear to watch the rest of the match. There was nothing manly about that fight. I bet neither of them felt anything.

    Also one thing I don't get is
    Because ice hockeyers always latch onto eachother during a fight, why do they never throw eachother but instead just fumble about on their skates while giving eachother powerless three-inch pats?

    If you'd watched the rest of the fight you'd have seen that at least one of them got smacked around pretty hard.

    I imagine that having the whole fight on skates means that wrestling would make it so unpredictable that it would become about luck rather than arse-kicking ability; they'd just fall over if they started wrestling.

    And yes, the punches don't look impressive, but they're all on steroids and they throw enough of them to do plenty of injury. The loser of the fight had a nasty black eye for the rest of the match and the players whose role it is to fight in every match suffer from long-term brain injuries and have extremely high suicide rates. Their mental health profiles are similar to those of professional wrestlers like Chris Benoit.

    EDIT:

    Most of the players who fight are Canadian, and Canadians are all addicted to prescription opiates, so they don't feel any pain.

    So, the Oilers v Kings match was boring as fuck right up until the last couple of minutes: a goal disallowed (unfairly) after being put on the board and a load of pissed off BFE boys from Edmonton throwing shit on the ice and swearing at the referee in unison, a goal with 4 seconds left of normal time and an extra time winner.
