Starwars Episode VII

  1. Jesus-tapdancing-Christ WTF?

    Seriously the concept is horrifying.

On the bright side I honestly don't think Disney could fuck it up more then Lucas did... well they could, think Pirates of the Caribbean meets Jar-Jar.

  2. God, I hate Jar Jar.

  3. The good thing is that the story after Episode 6 has already been written already through comics and novels. But Lucas and Disney could still screw over fans and writers and say that all comics and novels are non-canon and screw up the series even more with cute and/or stupid mascot character(s).

Yeah... I got a minor 'scolding' from my supervising director when I was asked what I was going to do about compiling data about this "Disney Star Wars" event and I mistakenly uttered I was asleep till till 3 PM today. I sited I am still on the TV Slope till December and that Movies are not my team.

Then I had to give him an Analysis of all the questions I would ask and dept analysis folders I'd set up... then I realized I was doing HIS Fuckin' Job for him and just hung up- I'm Already ANNOYED at this Star Wars bullshit.

There's sooo many questions NO ONE is asking yet

Casting, Merchandising, Directing, TV Animation, who wrote the books for 7,8,9 - how much did they sell, video games.... "Star Trek reboot questions...how will this affect Marvel studios...

I soooo don't fuckin' care about "Star Wars" anymore....this is too soon. I want Lucas to NOT be involved - now he's going to Ruin the sequels

I would not exactly say that is a good thing. There are a few gems in the EU but most is just fanfic quality.

After episode 3, even Pirates 3 would be better.

I'd rather see Starwars become public domain after Lucas' death or even after it's been around for 28 years if the old copyright duration was it's original duration then have it be owned by Disney.
Seriously Disney is going screw things up worse then Lucas himself did.
Though having the force end up being pixie dust or gnome farts would not be much worse then midichlorians.
Who knows maybe some of the creations could be funny such as Vader meets Timon and Pumba or stars wars told through duck tales characters though they could have done this any way with permission.

You're under the assumption anyone would let Star Wars go public domain when it rakes in billions.

Also I assume they'll let LucasFilms do their own thing for the most part, just like how they let Marvel do their own thing and Pixar do their own thing. The plus side is Lucas might finally be retiring.

Though the irony is George Lucas would have still made almost the exact same amount of money under the 1790 copyright act as he did under today's laws.

  14. One plus is that depending on how the licensing rights are going to work we might see Blu-ray non special editions of IV, V, VI.

Edit for completely spelling Blu-ray wrong.

That would actually be pretty cool.

  18. I'm throwing in my nomination for either Zack Snyder to direct, or Steven Spielberg. It's about time Steve got a shot at it.
