The Gadget Thread

  1. Heres my gadget, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. I've has it for about a year now and love it, such a nice phone to use and just to look at. If a phone could be 'sexy' this would be it.

I'm not talking about the build quality, I'm talking about how it works.

Of course YOU would - 'fail' - to mention that aspect properly....

    Either way, iPhone = NoGoodPhone

They're definitely useful I always carry a leather man's tool or the original multi tool the Swiss army knife around with me.

Plus some camping gadgets for people who actually go outside.

Never seen an android phone in that form factor usually phones like that run some hokey Java OS or Symbian if they're a Nokia.

I wish Nokia didn't kill the N900 slider because Maemo was one of the best phone OS's ever.

I used to own a N900.. Until I left it in the cab in China.
Sad panda, sad panda. I loved the phone for it's, strange, but underrated OS. Maemo was so much fun to experiment with. The phone was a pocket brick, but that didn't matter. And nothing beats a slide/qwerty phone.. Sadly most qwerty phones are business phones.

I'm using a HTC Sensation now. It's still a good phone. And I love android for the apps and lay-out. But its just not as much fun.

I believe our green haired fetish friend, CC, still owns a N900.

  9. I planned on buying HTC evo 3d~
A year old phone but it still captures my interest~
    I know I'm a sucker for 3d stuffs so....

    Is it worth it?

  10. Don't know really. You should try and get your hands on one in a store.
I believe it didn't get released over here.
But I doubt the 3d will add much. I'd say get the HTC (S/X/V) whatever.

    I so want one.
Having all games be partly free reminds me of the days of shareware.

  13. Windows phone vs Android vs iOS.

Though it seems Windows phone is a market failure.
I think Nokia's decision to bank so much on the success of Windows Phone will go down in history as one of the stupidest marketing decisions ever made by a company.

Still my favourite gadget of all time: my trusty Samsung SGH-M150. What I love most about it is getting to see the surprised faces of my classmates when they see I can browse the internet and receive my school email on it.

I remember one of my friends having one of those things... it was pretty cool. I might buy one off ebay for the fuck of it. :D

I prefer slider phones over pure touch screen ones.
Presently I use a Samsung Captivate Glide which has a dual core Tegra 2 chipset.

The Lumia they're hawking now is just a crappy iphone wannabe.

I have a Samsung Captivate Glide as well... sadly my screen glass is cracked (Thank you dad's dog... >.>) but I plan to either replace the screen or get another one very soon. I like the slide out keyboard.

I am also considering a Galaxy S II instead though as I'd like a bigger screen by slightly... or the S III if I can afford it. (Of course, the S III is like $600.00 without a contract so I don't think that's happening.)

The Chinese cab driver probably was a very happy panda to have found an expensive phone.

  18. The first smart phone the IBM Simon first sold in 1994.
It had a touch screen interface over a decade before the iPhone,a 16mhz 8086 class cpu, and ran DOS like an old PC.
