Prowrestu is worth taking a look at.
Despite being used for entertainment, you could take a lot of practical skills from it. Power moves (violent techniques such as power bombs or pile drivers) can be effective when your opponent's safety Isn't your #1 priority. A few helpful videos can be found here, of course, they're not advocating the use of prowre outside of the ring- it's still fun too learn.Posted 11 months ago # -
My formal martial arts training took the form of a simplified self-defense course. Basic punches, kicks, blocks, & throws out of the horse-riding stance and the advice to load your fists with keys, coins, or other small yet weighty objects. And some training with riot control shields & nightsticks.

lol... What, did all of watch Kenichi, and now you guys know martial artists?
I love this place......
I switch between Kenpo karate and Muay Chaiya, throw in some Kendo when my shins or elbows are healing. But Kendo drives me nuts with all the rules. Kendo is for nice and fair people, Muay Chaiya not so much.Posted 11 months ago # -

Now, if my roommate was involved, yes, it would be that bad. He knows "all about" martial arts because he has a lot of books, and watches kung fu movies, despite never having practiced any himself.

I dunno, I barely listen when he starts talking about it, I have to admit. All I know is that he thinks he wants to learn Muay Thai, but only because he think Tony Jaa could beat up Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li at the same time. He has no where near the level of athletic ability to learn it, though.
He fancies himself a bad-ass because he was in the military once, but like I say, he can barely out-bench me, and I'm half his weight.
